American Indians would probably be more vocal, but the fact is there are just not enough of us any more. I am probably only about 1/8 Cherokee. I had a great grand-father 3 generations back who walked the Trail of tears and lived. My Great Grandmother was at least 3/4.

Columbus is credited for discovering America. In his diary, he talks about feeding native children to his dogs because they wouldn't tell him where the gold was. As small as his band was, he and his men killed thousands of natives enslaved many others. We celebrate this "hero"

Indians were still being shot in the back as late as 1937 for their lands. As late as 1971, they were being disbanded and told to disburse as tribes because there were not enough of them in some areas to even be considered an independent race.

BTW, we continue to destroy the Native American. The largest concentration of Co-Vid in the US is NOT New York. It's the Navaho nation. They aren't a part of the US and they aren't counted in the same way.

I hate what is happening in this country right now, but I think it is a necessary evil. We had to come here, to look in the mirror and face the reflection of who we are as a country. Racism hid just beneath the surface for too long and now it has been held to the spotlight again.
