@SefikaComm3724 I get it. And thats absolutely great. But i think its high time young boys learn about this as well. I think we're not thinking broad if we're enlightening our young girls while boys stay in the dark. It takes the two to "fall preganant" that is-have ababy.#SmashDoubleStandards🤗
@PhaswanCOMM3724 Most definately. sometimes- most times infact, people create their own assumptions about HIV and spread those assuptioms to other uneducated people. This is where myths and misconceptions stem from
@moloicomm3724 The good news is there are many ways to lower the risk of passing HIV to your unborn baby to Zero. So it is possible to have HIV negative children while your HIV positive.
@koticomm3724 The most effective way is to raise awareness. Thanks to technology we're now able to do that more drastically. Many people now have youtube channels where they talk about their own experience and encounter with HIV.
Listen to the most recent episode of my podcast: Episode one. Real talk with Hillary (HIV and AIDS edition) and stay tuned for episode 2. https://t.co/CXAXYTcXSo
@koticomm3724 Great question. Just to clarify,, no they're not the same thing. HIV is a virus that attacks the immune system, and AIDS is a term that can only be used when HIV has caused severe damage to the immune system. AIDS is normally the reason why people end up not surviving.
@Comm3724Sihlobo Yes they do. However, there are more similarities than differnces. During acute/early infection women tend to have lower viral loads than men with similar CD4+ counts. The viral load does not put women at either lesser or greater risk of disease progression thou.
@ManasoeCOMM3724 We have so many women coming together to talk about serious matters. Dont you think its high time for men to do the same and create their own clubs where they tackle such issues?
@ManasoeCOMM3724 What about music videos that sexualize and objectify our women?
Dont you think that could possibly forn part of the root cause of femicide?
@SefikaComm3724 Dont you think its a good idea to let young boys join in the coversation just as much as these young girls should. I mean.... It takes the two right?
