Trying to revive my old streamlabs OBS setup, digging through wacky stuff I set up like 5 years ago - prepping for a good ol' MWO tournament this weekend.
Greetings all current and future Mechwarriors!
the Crab's Rangoons are proud to annouce that we're hosting a Solaris 7 themed tournament, details found below!
Its on June 29th, so anyone who decides to try #MWO has ample time to get accustomed to the game.

Bumping this - haven't played MWO in like 2 years now, but wishing the best for the folks who still enjoy it. @MechWarriorF2P does a good job on events/retention, but does kinda falter in new player outreach/advertisement. Particularly now when I assume the skill floor has risen.
fuck it, this upcoming Tuesday's stream will be a full blown yap session where any and all questions about the game will be answered and I'll do my best to explain the confusing parts in terms that are easier to understand.
I used to love going to movies, but the last few times I went it was full of people who needed to clap or yell whenever something happened. That or just people who wouldn't be quiet and needed to be a commentator. If I'm gonna pay for a movie, may as well be at home, in peace.
I join Google+, it gets overtaken by bots, scammers, etc. Eventually Google pulls the plug as it was no longer maintainable or profitable. I join Twitter, it gets overtaken by bots, scammers, etc. TBD on how much longer this site has.
🚨 Breaking News
All five people onboard on #Submersible are all very sadly died, #OceanGate confirms. This video shows how the accident happened with the submarine. 💔

1.Designing games around pros generally crushes the casual experience. 80% of players don't want 5 micro-mechanics to increase move speed.
2.Even if this game turns out "e-sports ready" competitors will migrate back to CoD as it's the same viewer experience with a wider audience.
This new FPS is literally rivaling Call of Duty on so many levels… and it’s taking actual pro player insight in its development

I don't know how I feel about MWOs big overhaul being 2 hero mechs designed for ac/2 boating, plus a new wide-open flat map. I like the revive and rebrand, I don't know if getting epilepsy from across the map is conducive to a fun new player experience though.
I don't think any video game will ever get me as angry as when people would bring a drop deck with a 2 erll raven first. I'll get a little gamer rage here and there, but that Raven 3L rage hit different.
When Faction Play was popular in @MechWarriorF2P, and invasion was the only game mode. So many wacky memories of ramshackle light mech rushes on emerald taiga, or matches that went 15 mins without someone opening a gate on boreal vault. Now it's mostly coordinated groups.
Blizzard torpedoed their entire company to get the China market only for China to block them and oh my god that is some GOOD schadenfreude fucking inject that into my veins
@Larsh_01 Armored core always has the most insane trailers. For answer's trailer made me lose my mind as a kid. I had heard rumors on an AC6 in dev, but finding out it's real is hype as fuck.
@yefluga The game is balanced more and more around the comp scene, which leads to these drawbacks, where most chassis are balanced around the best build for them. There are good things and bad things about it, maybe I'll get off my ass and make a video.
4 or 5 years ago, I would've shit a brick if MWO released a 45 tonner with this much armor. Now it's par for the course to survive. Dunno how I feel about that.
@yefluga Let me introduce you to the MAD-4L with no ghost heat running 2 gauss 2 ppc lol. It's kinda across the board unfortunately. More HSL quirks mean higher alphas, higher alphas mean we need more armor, more armor means people need to run optimized, comp oriented builds to do DPS.
