Some interesting reactions to the game rules introduced in 22w44a. I initially started working on the water source conversion one since many modded challenges turn off water conversion.
We got 7 new interesting gamerules to control how things explode, how snow accumulates, whether global sound events are heard by everyone and, with probably the most potential for mapmakers, whether water AND LAVA form new source blocks.
We also got Wither and Dragon Spawneggs.
The 22w44a snapshot is a nice one. Check it out here: https://t.co/CJfMtP1epL
If you're OP, you can now find the various creator items (commandblocks, barriers, light, etc) in the creative inventory under the redstone tab. Though it seems we're missing the structure block...
Breaking change in Vanilla 22w42a: to increase load time performance, all textures must be in their respective folders. You cannot use custom folders anymore. (textures/item and textures/block for the block atlas, as an example)
Knowing all we do now about the mobs in this years #mobvote in #MinecraftLive, which one do you think might be the most interesting/helpful for mapmaking?

Now that #MinecraftBedrock 1.19.10 has been out for almost a week, did you guys get used to having the new and improved execute command yet?
It's not quite as powerful as the Java command yet, but it's getting there.

/u/MoboDH posted this to our subreddit:
A working chess board in a single block. While it's still a little rough around the edges, this surely is a very cool concept!

22w19a adds the /place template command.
it's basically the equivalent of bedrocks /structure load command.
Finally no more jankyness to load structures through commands and an official way to do it!

Heads up: We're aiming to have this week's snapshot out on Thursday rather than Wednesday, since the team is busy with an unrelated event on Wednesday.
This means that arbitrary space length in custom text, even negative, is now trivial.
And that things like disabling vanilla advancements / recipes is now a lot easier than before (among other things). Thanks @0x00716F62 !
I've heard that some of you haven't heard the good news yet:
In 22w11a Mojang added two very cool things for mapmakers:
- a font glyph provider for spaces
- a way to selectively hide files from other Resourcepacks and Datapacks that are below this pack.
@Isaac_twisted If you need help with commands, we recommend using our subreddit or discord to post the question and you'll get help there. SPOILER: yes it is possible to do.
Not only did we succeed in defending and finishing, we teamed up with @CommandsDiscord and @MindcrackLP to combine three @Minecraft related communities and defend each other.
