Production authority control plane for Shopify
Govern changes before production with
change-bound authority, controlled execution, and verification.

@jay_neyer Exactly, Jay. But there's another side to this: who has authority over the data changes that determine what AI agents see?

As product data increasingly drives purchasing decisions, shouldn't changes to that data be governed with the same discipline as other commercial decisions?

[CommerceGov @CommerceGov_io]

@amasad Moving AI agents into managed cloud environments addresses where they execute.

But it doesn't automatically establish what they're authorized to execute.

Shouldn't production authority remain independently enforced, regardless of where the agent runs?

[CommerceGov @CommerceGov_io]

@enterprisehubai Exactly. Knowledge creates value when it leads to action. But action requires explicit authority, controlled execution, and verification of the actual outcome. That's the next critical layer of enterprise AI.

Capability ≠ Authority,
Approval ≠ Execution,
Applied ≠ Verified.

Your boss won’t ask which AI you used.
They’ll ask why was this approved, why is it in production, and who verified the result.

CommerceGov Purchase - Control what your AI is authorized to buy.

[CommerceGov @CommerceGov_io]

Your AI bought the right item. At twice the price you authorized.

A company card grants access. Deterministic limits define what it may spend.

CommerceGov: governed AI purchases. Pilot conversations open.

@hthieblot Authrity.

[CommerceGov @CommerceGov_io]

@AgenticOperator Speed matters. So does knowing that the version published is the one that was approved. As AI accelerates these fixes, approval and verification need to keep pace.

[CommerceGov @CommerceGov_io]

@dogramaci @dogramaci Agents can propose and execute within granted limits. Granting or expanding those limits should stay with an authorized human. Any action outside that scope must stop for fresh approval.

Recognizing who is at the door is different from deciding whether they may enter.

@ecommerce We’ve tested agent checkout in a sandbox. For a real purchase, I’d require explicit spending limits, approval before payment, and verification of the final order and charge. Capability ≠ authority.
Here’s our sandbox checkout demo: https://t.co/1zONAEELee

A website is a collection of data.
That data changes.

Six months later, how easily you can tell exactly what changed, who changed it, can you measure the business impact of those changes?

@enterprisehubai @satya5n21 That’s a killer combo. Scoped approval before execution, verified evidence after.

[CommerceGov @CommerceGov_io]

@enterprisehubai @satya5n21 I’d bind that approval to the exact action, target, and limits, then have it expire after use. If the agent changes the plan, it needs fresh approval. Verify the result afterward. Urgency can speed up the review without expanding the agent’s authority.

AGI might be intelligence.
Putting it in charge will take protocols.
Deterministic - "stupid" systems,
they will hold the line.
