Ahead of our @DotheWoo discussion on WooCommerce themes, performance and what merchants actually need, here are a few findings from the first report in our recent CommerceGurus community survey.
A few results really stood out.
@DotheWoo Despite those challenges, sentiment towards WooCommerce remains very positive.
60% expect to use Woo more over the next year, 37% about the same, and just 3% less.

We’ve just published a hands-on review of the Search & Filter Pro plugin from @rossmorsali
It was tested on a Shoptimizer store with 1,000 products, we looked at faceted filtering, search, perf, and accessibility.
For any Woo stores with larger catalogs it'd be a great fit.
Today is launch day! 🚀Feels a little weird launching a new plugin when so much of X seems negative about software dev, but I set a goal and I'm seeing it through. 280 people are getting it free through their All Access bundle. The rest gets it super cheap! https://t.co/WAOLTzBhs5
We launched our first CommerceGurus Community Survey yesterday and it's already a goldmine of interesting responses.
If you haven't had your say yet, we'd love to hear from you. It helps steer the direction of our products and shapes what we build next!
Forcing myself to switch WooCommerce themes on my live site, in production, really helped me get things done faster, after 8 months of procrastination.
In a matter of hours I fixed almost all design glitches, reworded the two most important pages (homepage + Business Bloomer Club), enabled subscriptions (!), came up with pricing, optimized the header/footer/sidebar, and cleaned up my custom PHP.
Now I feel confident enough (it's never gonna be perfect) and can tackle the next phase: conversion rate optimization.
For this, CommerceKit, which comes by default with the Shoptimizer theme, is perfect. Out of the box I can enable Order Bumps, Ajax Search, Countdowns, Waitlists, Wishlists, Cart and Checkout widgets, and more. On top of that, I need to capture email addresses and will restore my free videos and newsletter sign up banners.
After that I will be working on performance optimization, especially now that CommerceGurus Turbo has launched https://t.co/1t2l9hufZV - great timing!
We launched something new recently which we've wanted to build for years. We make Shoptimizer, a WooCommerce theme built around speed. But the same things kept coming up: a fast theme only gets you so far. Bloated CSS/JS, big images, third-party scripts all drag perf scores down.
It's amazing to see early users of our CommerceGurus Turbo performance plugin enjoying what we've built.
If you have a WooCommerce store and are struggling with perf I'd love to get you set up - just reply or send a DM.
We've just launched CommerceGurus Turbo - a performance plugin built specifically for WooCommerce.
Includes page caching, critical CSS, Cloudflare integration + lots more.
If you're into WooCommerce perf, I'd love you to give it a go - DM me and I'll sort out a license
