The grimace shake is the nihilistic creation of our age.
Industrial strength syrup and diary slop, sold in the name of a shapeless purple being, goading one into mindless consumption, to profit a global mega corp.
You can only truly enjoy the grimace shake if you’ve given up,
This is an orchestrated publicity stunt with three purposes, in the interests of all involved:
- present Willis as a moderate
- display the media power of TPU
- remove opposition parties from the debate
1/7 Smith's Dream appeared in '71. The book sold well & wowed reviewers, but CK Stead soon revised its ending, adding a note to explain his decision. Stead worried that his book had endorsed a dangerous national myth. The Tom Phillips saga shows the continuing power of that myth.
Workers lose their lives when Worksafe isn't resourced properly and can't do its job. It's already faced cuts.
Employers SHOULD be fearful about prosecution if they don't keep worker safe and alive.

That's all it took in this email just sent from Oranga Tamariki lawyers to the Employment Relations Authority to end the claim for pay equity for social workers employed at Oranga Tamariki.
By the end of last year, my enthusiasm to run again for council was almost non-existent. The internal culture, fostered especially by councillors this term is incredibly unhealthy.
These reforms are what give me hope and energy to go again:

National, NZ First and the TPU/ACT all say the Greens free GPs and dentistry are unaffordable madness.
Funny, I feel just the same about tax cuts for landlords.
It’s all choices.
Calling it.
Hypocrite of the Week goes to @brookevanvelden: Tearfully says 'no one in this country should be subject to sex-based discrimination' at the SAME MOMENT she is being lambasted for making this EXACT thing continue happening to 100s of 1000s of low paid women.
I stand in solidarity with Palestinians who are commemorating the Nakba today. The Israeli Government’s continuing genocide in Gaza is an extension of the Nakba, despite Palestinians having every right to self-determination and to live in peace. #auspol#politas
Nicola Willis just said to RNZ that she has been talking with Cabinet about changes to pay equity since April 2024 and didn't talk to NZ women or their unions as there were claims in the system.
So they instead of talking to us, they canceled all those claims!

- Thursday 15th 8:30am. CTU receives phone call from Treasury. You can send anyone to the lock-up except Craig Renney.
- Thursday 15th 9:30am. CTU receives further phone call from Treasury. "After further reflection, we have decided to allow CTU and Craig Renney to attend"
Someone finally overruled Willis' absurd call to ban representatives of organised labour from the Budget lock-up over her petty, personal hatred of Craig Renney.
This is terrible for Willis - when your colleagues act against your loss of the plot like this, you don't last long.
A better world is possible if whoever comes next can help drive and rebuild our union movement. The times call for organising, organising, and more organising.
Together we can win.
Yesterday Richard Wagstaff announced to Unions that he is stepping down as NZCTU president. I appreciate his work with the Union movement, and hope he enjoys his well deserved retirement.
The Union Movement now needs to ensure that the incoming President can meet the moment.
