Army veteran at NYC Parks GreenThumb. Views my own. @youthspeakngo Community gardens, refugees/IDPs, NYC politics, youth empowerment, vets, running, birding.
@JustinBrannan@frankmorano But why isn't a valid passport acceptable instead of social security card for city agency hiring? Is that just some leftover @NYCDCAS rule from a bygone age? Asking agency HR has just gotten a vague ~that's the way it's always been~ style answer without ever pointing to policy.
@eternallyRaq@playbookdc And whose management experience includes corrupt Joseph Percoco and thru defending him, including thru $ funneled thru Cuomo sister, resulted in watering down national protections against corruption. Just more of the Cuomo-brand leadership.

Great PSA from an @MTA bus driver for anyone complaining about getting tickets for parking in the #buslane or #busstop.
Just don't do it. You're slowing everyone else down, and thankfully you're now going to pay for that monetarily.
#nyctransit#mta
I want to recognize the great work of @MTA conductor Theresa Footman, who demonstrated extraordinary professionalism, calm, and humor in last week’s power failure that required evacuation of 3,500 riders last Weds. Amazing poise in a very difficult situation.
@anbanerjee11 Hi! Yes, I did. And yes, no issues, as long as awesome conductor (sorry, never grabbed her name and no visible nametag) gets a proper shoutout for being an awesome professional.
Over two hours stuck on an F train between Jay Street and Bergen. @MTA , our conductor was great - informative, professional, sympathetic, and with good humor. Give her a raise, have her train others. You've got a talented employee thar deserves recognition.
Wow finally got to check “get trapped in the @NYCTSubway for 2.5 hours with no cell service, ventilation, and minimal information, then evacuate by emergency exit staircase” off my NYC bingo card.
@noneck Got a response to my matching 311 - "The Police Department responded to the complaint and took action to fix the condition."
Any luck? Or just a lie that they took action and then did nothing (while on city time).

@noneck Just placed another 311 using your pics and details. Good luck. Was at a street fair this weekend where tow trucks never came. Supposedly tow drivers were sick. But maybe more nyc corruption.
@JacobRubashkin Will never forget this -
"To some, the joint appearances showed her as more of a politician than she may want to admit, while others -- including Public Advocate Jumaane Williams ... urged his supporters not to rank Garcia at all."

@RossBarkan He didn't care about mass transit because he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and didn't give a damn about lesser folks too poor to drive. And how can you read The Power Broker in an age when democracy is under threat and actually support his relentless dishonesty?
@NYCTSubway@SirJoey13@MTA Stuck on an impacted 2 train here in the Bronx that started heading backwards and with zero announcement @MTA your customers deserve better.
@cbouzy I wish these assholes playing at being soldiers and demanding military vehicles and equipment got a fraction of the treatment the military uses toward negligent discharges. But they're magically above the law and reproach. Try that kind of BS in the military, officer incompetent
@MelvinOSquire@LincolnRestler I imagine some of this work could also be done remotely with OT codes shared to qualified people at different agencies. Again - would need proper management.
@MelvinOSquire@LincolnRestler That would require proper management between agencies. Which is not a strength. Which is why you didn't see community outreach staff prioritized for staffing vaccine sites but did lose DOHMH exterminators to the effort.
Many of @NICE4Workers do street vending to support their families. @NICE4Workers stand with @VendorPower & #Corona Plaza Street Vendors Assoc (AVA). Street Vendors are hard-working immigrant workers and driving sources of #NYC local economy. Corona Street Vendors need to be back!
Why is @NYCMayor Adams administration shutting down this vibrant food hub and economic center for immigrant workers? This is the opposite of what “economic development” should be.
Highlighting this because it's important to get it right - stop blaming the victim, the e-bikes, the scooters. "What is killing users of 50 lb. machines going 25 mph are the 4,000 lb. machines that can go 100+ mph." https://t.co/Q5xlt8DaW3
