Common Prefix is taking the lead stewardship role of Axelar. We are excited to share our plans for 2026, with more details to be announced in Q1.
Our team consists of scientists–professors, PhDs, and post-docs–from world-renowned universities like Stanford, Imperial, ETH Zürich, and University of Edinburgh. But also senior engineers with decades of experience in hedge funds, TradFi, and Web3. We bridge the gap between science and engineering.
We are razor-sharp focused on institutional adoption. For this, we will double down on the ecosystems that matter like XRPL, Sui, Solana, Ethereum, Stellar, and Hyperliquid. We will make sure that supported connections bring value to the ecosystem, and the right incentives for validators.
For institutional, we need increased economic security. We’ll enable co-staking of blue chip tokens beyond just AXL. Privacy, compliance, and robustness will also be a theme for the year.
For bridging, we will remove friction of moving assets from chain to chain by introducing gasless bridging. Subsidies will come from investing capital locked in gateway contracts, creating novel asset classes. Users will always have the choice to act according to their risk appetite.
Lastly, we’re building up-the-stack in select key verticals: stablecoins, tokenized deposits, yield, and lending. A fusion of new chains creates an opportunity for new emerging asset classes.
Solana is now connected to Axelar Mainnet.
Solana has one of the most vibrant ecosystems in Web3 across DeFi, payments, and tokenization, and is now part of Axelar alongside Ethereum, XRP Ledger, Stellar, Hedera, and others.
Ultimately, developers, users, and institutions shouldn't need to think about which chain they're on. Infrastructure should make ecosystem boundaries increasingly irrelevant.
Solana is now live on Axelar Mainnet.
The integration enables cross-chain messaging and asset transfers between @Solana and Axelar-supported ecosystems.

Common Prefix is sharing a full breakdown of the exploit of a third-party Safe module called “SquidRouterModule” on May 25, 2026.
The report covers how the attack played out, who was affected, and how funds moved following the incident.

Since launching mainnet in 2022, Axelar has powered cross-chain interoperability behind the scenes.
Today, we are taking the first step towards making that infrastructure easier for users to access directly.
Introducing a new way to move assets through Axelar’s secure and decentralized interoperability network.

A 3rd-party @safe module called "SquidRouterModule" was exploited today on Ethereum, Base, and Arbitrum, with ~110 Safes drained for ~$4M in under 2 hours. We noticed the incident while it was unfolding and investigated it given the suspicious module name and the Axelar-related execution logic in the verified source code.
The Axelar protocol, user funds, and integrations were not affected.
The exploit was isolated to the 3rd-party module and the Safes that had enabled it. The module contained incorrect validation logic that trusted attacker-controlled payload data. Because affected Safes had enabled the module as trusted, the attacker was able to impersonate authorized delegates and execute arbitrary swaps on behalf of those Safes.
With that access, the attacker made victim Safes approve and swap real assets on Uniswap V3 into pools they had pre-funded, pairing target assets against a worthless token they deployed (primarily one called "u"). The Safes received the worthless token in return while their real assets accumulated in the pools, after which the attacker extracted the legitimate tokens.
The stolen funds were ultimately converted into DAI and consolidated into a single Ethereum address, 0xa447f71782135ab96a71374271a749ff7aa54859. The attacker's main account was funded via Tornado Cash. Some potential copycat activity using additional fake tokens was also observed shortly after the initial exploit.
🚨 Blockaid detected an ongoing exploit targeting the SquidRouterModule on Ethereum and Base.
86 Gnosis Safes drained for ~$3M in ~2 hours.
All stolen tokens swapped to DAI via attacker-controlled Uniswap V3 pools.
