Short thread which may be of interest to other community renewables groups considering the development of a wind project - if it is, get in touch!
After successfully building & operating our 100kW hydro for 10 yrs, we (Sunart Community Renewables) are looking to develop.... 1/n
Just reposting this in case anyone missed it in January - we're still convinced of the benefits of a community LiDAR project, and would be pleased to hear from any potential partners 👇

Of course, other groups may have easier sites, & be able to progress the (cheaper) met mast option. But we think many will have similar constraints to ourselves, plus LiDAR has its own advantages highlighted earlier.

Instead of having to find £60-80k to get wind monitoring & analysis done, other communities could probably get it done for £15-20k.
This would seem a win for them, & for any funders of the initial unit. But we need to know if others are interested before we commit to buying. 7/n

We've just paid annual share interest to members at the usual 4% - keep an eye on your bank accounts tomorrow for it.
(and if you're one of only 6 people remaining who have yet to give us your bank details - get in touch with the Treasurer!)
Another milestone reached: we've now bought back over half of the share capital held by members following our initial share offer back in 2015 - not far short of £400,000 to date.
