The race was started by an athlete from Orapa Athletics Club and finished by an athlete from Jwaneng Athletic club. A true 💎 story. They had sole purpose to secure our DIAMONDS

The level of organization of the @WorldAthletics Relays in Gaborone, the passion in the stands and the turnout of over 40,000 fans showed that our continent is not only producing world-class athletes, but is now ready to host global events at the highest level.
I commend the strides made by Kenya, Ethiopia, Botswana and South Africa in organizing global athletics events under World Athletics. In my view, this was the best edition since the relays began, a clear proof that Africa is on the rise.
We must now match this progress with accelerated investment in sports infrastructure across the continent. That is how we fast-track Africa’s place as a consistent and trusted host of world-class competitions.
The future of global athletics is not just in Africa. It is being built here.
Congratulations to all!
