The big day is finally here!
It’s #CommunityRailWeek, sponsored by @RailDeliveryGrp 🎉
Stay tuned as we celebrate the vital role #CommunityRail plays in fostering inclusion, strengthening local connections and ensuring everyone can access and enjoy rail travel🫶 #JourneysForAll
We’re proud to lead the grassroots #CommunityRail movement, which plays a vital role in putting railways and stations at the heart of inclusive, empowered and healthy communities – producing a social return on investment of £17.89 per £1 spent. #CommunityRailWeek#JourneysForAll
Travelling by train is one of the greenest ways to get around. It opens up sustainable ways to explore and commute.
We’re helping people make greener choices through new walking and cycling maps linked to our stations.

What's the buzz all about @greateranglia Ipswich? The bees will tell you! They were spotted today having breakfast @ the memorial garden on the island platform. You'll find flower tubs and/or a garden @ each East Suffolk Lines station, all thanks to volunteers. #ComnunityRailWeek

Thank you to everyone that visited our & @WherryLines Lowestoft - Yarmouth Railway Exhibition staged at Gorleston Library as part of #CommunityRailWeek. It has proved very popular and we will endeavour to present it again in our Parcels Office at Lowestoft station soon.
As part of #CommunityRailWeek, tomorrow along with @WherryLines, we will be at the @greateranglia Crown Point Open Day with our free line guides and timetables. If you were lucky enough to secure a ticket do come and say hello!
What an absolute delight it was to bring the #CommunityRailWeek celebrations to Hindley Station earlier this week 🎉
Working with @SELCRP1@northernassist@BeeNetwork, this incredible volunteer-led group is helping make rail travel more welcoming, accessible and inclusive. 🧵
We also saw major accessibility improvements underway at the station through @networkrail's multi-million-pound Access for All scheme, which will provide lifts and step-free access for passengers. #CommunityRailWeek#JourneysForAll
#CommunityRail is all about local impact 🌼
Our amazing #CamValley volunteers have created gardens and planted wildflowers to make the railway and surrounding areas more welcoming for everyone.
That’s what #JourneysForAll looks like in action. #VolunteersWeek
Happy #CommunityRailWeek!
This week, @CommunityRail Partnerships and station volunteer groups just like us will be raising the profile of #CommunityRail and celebrating the inspiring work happening across Britain to connect communities with their railway.
Over the years we’ve worked with numerous groups with barriers to train travel. One such project was our Creative Platforms project with Emily Kaye and @cwwmind , where we looked at how we could use art to help those with anxiety around travel.
Check out the activity booklet and videos Emily created and let us know if you try out some of the activities! https://t.co/47alFFjR0f
