As a new school year begins, thousands of children are preparing to return to school. But for some, going back to school is not guaranteed.
Poverty, disability, and difficult family circumstances can become barriers to education and to the opportunities that come with it.

At Community Rise, we believe that every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and build a better future.
Through our Back to School Sponsorship Program, we are standing with vulnerable children and helping them access the support they need to continue their education.

This program provides opportunity, dignity, confidence, and hope. It supports vulnerable children with school fees, uniforms, learning materials, hygiene supplies, clothing, and other essentials so they can learn in a safe and supportive environment.

Stakeholders in #Burundi’s #education and #disability rights sectors gathered on 6 May 2026 in @Bujaprov2025 for a high-level conference aimed at advancing inclusion, accessibility, and mental well-being for students living with disabilities in universities across the country.

The event, held at the King’s Conference Centre, was organised by @CRBurundi under the #Voice+ project for the Inclusion and Empowerment of Young People with Disabilities in Burundi. The initiative is supported by the @FRB_KBS.

The conference brought together government officials, disability rights advocates, university representatives, and students from different institutions.

Among the key participants were Micheline Bigirimana, social and cultural affairs advisor in the Governor’s Office of @Bujaprov2025 ; @ndiho_jimmy , Director of @CRBurundi ; Patience Nzeyimana of the Confederation of Organisations of Persons with Disabilities in Burundi (CORPHP); and Clémentine Bizoza from the @MininterInfosBi.
