@ESPNMcGee Hey Ryan as I was listening to your book I was pleasently surprised to hear the name Tony Torchia. He was the mgr for our independent minor league team in 2004. Small world. Enjoying the story!

Do you all have the “stones” to band together as @NASCAR leaders and help make the USA Bobsled program world class? If you can make those cars approach 200 mph, you can surely get the 4 man bobsleds above 85 mph?
So a few years ago @NASCAR driver got involved in the US Bobsled program. These sleds go 85 mph. NASCAR vehicles approach 200 mph. I heard @DaleJr likes watching the bobsleds. I challenge @NASCAR owners to use your technology to make the US bobsled program world class.
I have no love for Oklahoma but I do have the utmost respect for what they have accomplished this year and the coaches/players they attracted to get into the CFP this season.
I predict they beat Bama 24-13
@finebaum Thx for the mention of the The Gates of November book by John Bacon. Interesting historical topic of an event most people just assumed was a fictional reference or from an accident that happened perhaps in the 1800’s.
Ahmad Hardy was named a first-team all-American by the AFCA this morning. That makes him a consensus all-American, having been named on at least three of the five teams required.
@MichaelWBratton Lack of a passing game against any SEC team that could defend the pass past 5 yards. The special teams were also a huge issue. OL was number 3 on the list of issues.
Mizzou making its fourth appearance at @taxslayerbowl and facing @UVAFootball for just the second time in program history. Last meeting was 1973 - 31-7 Tigers W in Columbia.
Coach Mike McCarty on the @PatMcAfeeShow is a great guest. I just learned more about the inside operations of football in the few minutes he was on than I have in the past 10 years of watching Sunday morning pre-game shows. What a great guest!
Mizzou 31
Bama 24
I’m an idiot because I always say “Keep picking the blue blood until the other team scores a breakthrough win, then the aura is busted.” Then the exact scenario sets up and I pick Mizzou because my heart bleeds black & gold… and Drink would be 🔥 postgame
@MizzouATH2@Tigerjh69 That’s a good point about having the bye week. I forgot about that. Upon further review of the game, I think Bama had the advantage at key positions (QB, WR) and they were able to capitalize on the strengths. Mizzou seemed to forget it is a run first team.
@MizzouATH2@Tigerjh69 Biggest problem is the grind of the SEC so when you face a top team, being too worn down to beat them. In Big 10, they don’t have the grind top to bottom and Indiana beat Oregon. Come on, Mizzou beat Ohio State in a bowl game. Easier to breakthrough in Big 10
