- described as "a song that conveys a message of fully embracing the consequences of one’s own choices", 'bed of thorns' is a modern day take on the proverb 'you've made your bed now lie in it' which first appeared in french literature in 1590 as "comme on faict son lict, on le treuve” ("as one makes one's bed, so one finds it") and was popularized in english literature by george herbert in 1640. by calling it a "bed of thorns", the song sets the foundation for the album. in korean, 'thorns' figuratively represent the hardships and struggles of life and in the album, txt use thorns to express their inner anxiety and uncertainty about the future.
