We are letting too much shit slide
Covid kinda parked us as a collective. So i get it.
But as the only country in history to get packed out like this psychologically w no get back
While the Ugliest. Weirdest. Dumbest motherfuckers to ever live are fucking the bag up
Im hot
Several things here. He did take less than the max but:
1. Leon Rose is his godfather and was his dad’s agent and Rose’ son is Jalen’s current agent.
2. Knicks hired his father a month before signing Jalen
3. They traded for 3 of his Villanova teammates.
- I wanted the Knicks to win badly—I’m a New Yorker, but this is why I hate prisoners of the moment and casuals who don’t know the history of whichever sport they’re discussing—just typing foolishly.
People are putting Jalen Brunson over Patrick Ewing because of a ring and finals MVP that Ewing doesn’t have. Alright, cool—so then Chauncey Billups is over Patrick Ewing as well, right? I mean, why not?
Brunson’s NBA career
• 3x All-Star
• 3x All-NBA 2nd Team
• 1x Champion
• 1x Finals MVP
• 3 Conference Finals Appearances
• 1 Finals Appearance
• Beat the young & dumb Spurs
Cool…Now let’s see Chauncey’s NBA career
Billups’s NBA career
• 5x All-Star
• 2x All-NBA 3rd Team
• 2x NBA All-Defensive 2nd Team
• 1x Champion
• 1x Finals MVP
• 1x All-NBA 2nd Team
• 7 STRAIGHT Conference Finals Appearances
• 2 STRAIGHT Finals Appearances
• Beat the Shaq & Kobe Lakers
Let’s look at who Brunson faced in his conference finals and finals appearances
Steph 2022 Warriors
Haliburton Pacers
Mitchell & Harden Cavaliers
Wembanyama & Castle young Spurs
Let’s look at all who Billups faced in his conference finals and finals appearances
Jason Kidd Nets
Reggie, Ron, J. O’Neal Pacers
Shaq & Kobe Lakers
Wade & Shaq Heat
Duncan, Ginobili, Parker Big 3 Spurs
Wade & Shaq Heat
LeBron Cavaliers
Pierce, KG & Ray Big 3 Celtics
Kobe & Gasol Lakers
so Billups has done more, faced tougher competition in the toughest era. If Brunson’s over Ewing, then Billups is as well. See how dumb that sounds?
A championship is a championship 🏆
But every ring comes with a different story.
Kevin Durant won two titles with one of the greatest teams ever assembled.
Jalen Brunson embraced the pressure of New York and led the Knicks back to the mountaintop.
One path featured a ready-made contender. The other required helping build a championship culture from the ground up.
Both ended with a ring. Both required greatness.
But if you had to choose, what's worth more? 🤔
The championships won as part of a dynasty?
Or the one that brought a city its long-awaited moment?
@beans_cap For sure, a culture shift but also a very intentional focus on building around a guy that can really hoop. I was very upset when Don Nelson and Cuban let him walk, but high key JB was born to be the Knicks savior idk how else to put it
The Knicks easy path narrative is false.
Hawks were great in 2nd half of season.
Sixers just eliminated the 2-seed Celtics.
Cavs just eliminated the 1-seed Pistons.
Spurs were heavy favorites in the series.
This Knicks team is an all-time great team.
@beans_cap No question they were the better TEAM but the team aspect is what’s getting lost in a lot of the discourse here. Already knew they were going to be some wild all-time takes about JB after the win and because it being NY it boosted his HOF bid but man nyc was not good for years
@beans_cap I don’t disagree with you at all the Knicks showed up in every way during that series and that’s why they won. I’m
Having a hard time with the Jalen carried narrative when he was shooting them outta games early. The two OG games way more impactful than the last
@beans_cap Yeah when you’re talking about the guardians, but ya know there’s only one team to beat a 73-9 win team that is regarded the best team ever. I’m not a Cavs fan you know this lol.
@beans_cap Good for the Knicks but trialing in 72 percent of games against a team that couldn’t finish in the 4th… we all have eyes. Knicks made shots when they needed to. Congrats.
