This sculpture, designed in #Mathematica and 3D printed at @ICERM's Ultimaker 3, illustrates how the Sierpinski carpet fractal is the limiting set of an octree (each node has eight children). https://t.co/YrL6PEyyrE Thank you @amermathsoc for featuring it! #MathArt@ComplexTrees
Bernat Espigule @bernatree, a math researcher at Universitat de Barcelona, was one of dozens of mathematicians from around the world who spent last fall @BrownUniversity@ICERM, participating in the Illustrating Mathematics program. Now his work has been featured by @amermathsoc
Mathematicians from around the world gathered at @BrownUniversity@ICERM last fall for the semester-long Illustrating Mathematics program, and that work continues to be shared and discussed in other places, including @amermathsoc.
@bernatree Apart from this @bernatree has also created visualizations where H-Tree is derived by walking on the Mandelbrot set: https://t.co/PCoAwlIVgC and tongues of the Julia fractal: https://t.co/ShnXhYs2O8
His @ComplexTrees account is also well worth checking out!
Apparently my recent work on @ComplexTrees introduces a pair of new families of connected self-similar sets where both logos of @studcCMS and @AARMS_math are elements found in the boundary between stable and unstable ternary trees #CMSWinterMeeting2019#RéunionHiverSMC2019
