@CriticSusan @JustinWolfers To my knowledge, 1/4 point is the smallest increment they use, so this is the smallest change possible. Powell’s fed (and the Fed Reserve historically) are cautious and like to move slowly and in the smallest amount necessary.

@QuailWhisperer @QuantumQlink @ShadowofEzra Birthrate decline doesn’t hit housing as an economic factor untill the smaller generation reaching house purchasing age and the larger, older generation ceases to be holding housing. Ie, in the US at least, the birthrate question starts to hit housing when the boomers are dead
