I’m Pedro, 24, and I just launched Compound Studio.

This is the story behind it.

I started my freelancing journey after joining The Real World community. It pushed me to take freelancing seriously and eventually make the decision to bet on myself.

In December 2024, I quit my 9–5.

I wanted freedom, and I still see freelancing as my life goal.

But the bills, rejection, late nights, and the frustration of wondering if something is actually going to work? That part is real.

I started with Wix and WordPress, then discovered Framer and fell in love with the canvas.

I started building websites for local businesses, then went after international clients. I reached out to 1,000+ detailers and automotive businesses on Instagram.

Most said no.

Eventually, I landed 2 clients in LA, a detailer and a psychology clinic.

Then I discovered Framer Templates.

I turned one of those websites into a template and got rejected over and over before finally getting one approved, and honestly templates rejections what makes me learn design principles better than tutorials

I still remember waiting 15 days for that approval email 😂

The template sold well, so I went all-in on templates. I shipped more, got more approved, and learned a ton.

Then Framer 3.0 came out.

I shipped a few more templates, but sales slowly dropped.

So I changed direction again.

I went back to client work, but this time with a different ICP: SaaS, startups, and fintech. I studied messaging, positioning, worked with design agencies, and helped build websites for real companies.

Along the way, I also worked in automation and social media management.

I’m still growing as a designer, but I’ve learned something that changed how I work:

Don’t just make something look good. Understand the business, the customer, and the problem.

Founders aren't waking up thinking about a pretty website.

They’re thinking about sales, signups, deals, and bookings.

AI now helps me move faster across design, development, research, and automation. But the problem still comes first.

So I finally put everything I’ve learned into one place.

Built a landing page concept for a newsletter startup.

- A proof bar with 3 numbers that do the work
- A solution section with one message per feature
- A flow that takes you from curiosity to action
