@BonsaiPrism I have gotten better at following the signs, but damn arrive at shinjuku station at least 30 mins early b4 the last train or you are screwed.
@DarkfireCapital I noticed that it seems the most dominant material comes first i think. I also want low cut socks, those one look like long socks. But i would buy a few as souvenirs.
I have heard that certain euro brands make super high quality glasses. I did pay 350 for a pair of armanis and they made the stem for the adj. nose pad too thin for aesthetic reasons, well it broke withing 5 months of wear.
Is your prescription stabilized or do u replace the lense when it does change?
Jins Shibuya Flagship store notes:
-wait time for eye exam is 40 mins due to high demand. Machines automate the eye exam process, they ask questions in your desired language, in this case I picked English. In Canada, an eye exam itself is $99 cad.
-they have more than enough customer service staff to handle the in flow of customers, saw a lot of foreigners in the store
-standard lenses are free and they have other tinted glasses, some trendy lenses even give u blush which is interesting
-cool cafe on the third floor with what seems to be higher quality coffee beans sourced internationally, for those who are waiting to pick up their eye exam or just want a break from shopping
-business model will stay intact as long as cost of eye exams and frames are inflated overseas.
First day in Japan:
-made a friend waiting in line at the international visitors line
-loaded up OG physical suica card from 2019 cuz android doesnt offer suica app if the phone is bought outside jp...
-got 2 sandwiches, 1 from newdays (6/10) and egg sando from 7/11 (6.5/10)
-had yakiniku like (7.5/10)
-got lost at shinjuku station
-got on wrong last train headed in right direction, walked 22 mins to accomodation
How I would rate my first day 10/10! Fucking love Japan!
Second day in Japan:
-Went to Jins and got an eye exam and new glasses for 9,900 yen (tax free savings)
-Went to get sushi at hibi hare bare shinjuku, 8/10
-Walked around Harajuku, got there a bit late. Went into Liberty Walk store and got a dope tokyo exclusive t-shirt
-went to TsuruTonTan for udon, 7/10, solid udon, I quite like udon feel its super underappreciated
-missed my last train, wallet was unhappy I spent 6700 yen on a taxi... but hey at least I got a story about missing the last train

Customer service was hit or miss. Lots of traffic, some staff were nice, one staff had less patience.
Overall was a good experience. You get a ticket for the eye exam, and the same ticket is used to reserve the frames and lenses. After confirming your choices they had my glasses ready for pickup in an hour. Pretty efficient.
