That's not completely true; it is also about scale. If you can spend 1 million at a 6x ROAS or 10 million at a 5x ROAS, I would choose the latter. It still depends on your profit margins, but in most cases, this holds true. Plus, one doesn't exclude the other—if possible, you can just do both :).
Also, it is much harder to maintain the same ROAS when you have a significantly larger ad spend, like Meta and Microsoft. Don't expect Zeta to maintain a 600% ROAS if they 10x their spend.
You don't think that big companies like Google or Microsoft can do the same in the distant future and compete with them? I think the only reason for high demand at the moment is a shortage of energy, but that won't last forever.
Then there would still be a place for newbies, but not at 70-80% margins
I'm just asking to be sure that I'm not missing anything as to why it could be possible.
@99QQ111971@Yd__Te I'll leave this here, and I think they were one of the better-performing BTC mining companies, so I wouldn't say they failed. https://t.co/t64K70NDz0
A throwback clip from my very first interview with @IREN_Ltd Co-Founder & Co-CEO @danroberts0101 back in October of 2023, incredible vision & foresight!!! 👀👀👀 $IREN
$NBIS or $IREN — who outperforms over the next 10 years?
$NBIS — Nebius
Mcap: ~$54B
Secured power: 3+ GW
Owns 75%+ of its infrastructure
$IREN — Iris Energy
Mcap: ~$20B
Secured power: 5 GW
100% owned infrastructure (land, power & data centers)
Which are you picking?
IREN has entered into a $1.6bn purchase agreement with Dell for air-cooled Blackwell systems to support its previously announced 5-year, $3.4bn managed services AI cloud contract.
The systems are expected to be deployed across existing data centers at Childress, Texas, with commissioning targeted for early 2027.
Upon commissioning, the AI cloud contract is expected to increase IREN's annualized run-rate revenue (ARR) from $3.7bn to $4.4bn.
@danroberts0101, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of IREN commented:
“Securing capacity and accelerating commissioning are our top priorities in a market where time-to-compute is everything. Hyperscalers, enterprises and developers choose IREN as a partner because we own and control the full stack - the physical infrastructure, the compute, and the operational capability to deploy at scale.
Our relationship with Dell ensures access to hardware at the scale and speed the market demands. Every deployment we complete makes the next one faster, and that compounding execution advantage is what we are building.”

@walkin_wiki Haha, you are absolutely right. I am dyslexic and English is not my first language. So I ran it through AI for a spell check. It changed it to Iris Energy, and I didn't notice.
