Computable ⟶ Kindred. Earlier this year, we decided to discontinue development of the Computable protocol. The team is incredibly excited about what’s next, but we also wanted to share a retrospective of what went into our decision. https://t.co/3O1m0kwkSW
Meanwhile if you want to keep up with what we’re doing with Kindred, follow @withkindred and sign up for our mailing list here: https://t.co/VB7hVhziDN. 👋

While we're no longer developing the Computable protocol, it remains an open resource. Our lines are open to anyone inspired by our work, interested in building on it, or wants to learn from our experiences.

How do you define and enforce a standard for fair use of data? We ran into that dilemma when we built data collective for Uber and Lyft drivers, and found that selling transportation system data isn't as simple as it sounds: https://t.co/4QvMwnsIsn
We created a mobile app that lets users record their location while driving and contribute to a large dataset that tells the story of how transportation in a city works. Unfortunately we couldn't control what that data was used for once it left our hands: https://t.co/4QvMwnsIsn
"We built a data collective for drivers. Our prototype enabled us to test abstract ideas for a product; it also pushed back against our company values." @_reidw_ shares why we pulled the plug on our own project: https://t.co/4QvMwnsIsn
Smart contracts combine the best attributes of the Internet and open source software to help us reimagine governance. Learn why we recently launched a new protocol for community-governed datasets: https://t.co/uVBkSayTUR
At Computable, we believe data has a governance problem – that's why we're exploring the potential of data cooperatives and why we deployed the first decentralized and on-chain data cooperative. Learn more: https://t.co/4YhcvUTOeH
This week's developer update is now out! Our terminal UI, Compas, is now at v1 and provides a powerful control panel to manage decentralized datasets. Check out our post to learn more: https://t.co/MUmksk0Plp
We've just released details about our recent code audit with @trailofbits! Check out our blog post walking through an overview of the security analysis of our protocol https://t.co/x25t9gMk5D
@trailofbits Second, we have to wrestle with the fact that data must live off-chain while contract state lives on-chain. This led to an interesting set of design trade-offs. Our current design is pragmatic and most importantly, functional today.
This week's developer update is out! We now have a private testnet data market with our release candidate for mainnet launch running. Check out our post: https://t.co/Iv5zE88yDf
