I *adored* the TellTale Sam and Max games. In many ways they surpassed the LucasArts original. The Devil’s Playhouse in particular was a work of art. It plays with the p-n-c formula in weird, unique and fun ways. Looking forward to playing ‘em again!
With The Devil’s Playhouse remaster on the horizon (see you in just a couple days, 9am Pacific time on August 14) it seemed like a good time to highlight a few other adventure games with big news around the same time as us. So, a quick thread!
@foolsjustice It has two cameras running in engine at the same time, drawing on top of each other in two different layers. That's also how the Narrator is done throughout the game, as well as Max Mode, and the video calls in episode 5. These... didn't work in the modern engine at all D:
Here's a nice wallpaper of last week's Devil's Playhouse announcement thumbnail image. We keep looking at it so we figured you might want to too. See you August 14!
When Max finds a toy that shows him the future, he attracts the attention of a host of villains from across the galaxy hellbent on acquiring the magical Toys of Power. Now Sam & Max must face their scariest adversary yet: the power of Max’s mind. https://t.co/PDzEDleOyx
You: Hey what's the status of the Sam & Max Devil's Playhouse remaster? Any news?
Us, sweating and typing furiously as our CPUs try to boil themselves alive in their cases:
Would it enrage you to hear that last night, 24 hours ago, we had The Devil’s Playhouse remaster up at a demo station at GDC? If so, sorry. But we did. And it was great! Thanks to everyone who ran into us. Sorry to the rest of you, we sort of forgot we were doing it. 😬
