@oxfoxoxfox@NoLuckLopez@Bolshevice If you had asked me prior to the conference if I thought the vote would have been unanimous I genuinely would have said no. I was just as surprised but hey I guess SAlt acting like a pack of arseholes on social media after the AEC said no changed a few minds.
@NoLuckLopez@Paul__Hastings There’s being sassy and there’s being a sexist arsehole taking pot shots behind a computer screen on a public platform attacking and naming individuals.
@Paul__Hastings@NoLuckLopez 😂😂 I think there’s bigger issues facing us all than the existence of two Socialist parties running in elections. Please get some perspective.
@NoLuckLopez@Bolshevice Yes which is not the case. If Socialist Alliance members were genuinely worried about the viability of our organisation, the decision made to not pursue unity at this time would not have been unanimous.
@NoLuckLopez@Paul__Hastings Don’t be a suck hole Daniel ffs. We’ve got great organisers across the country, which is why we’re growing in membership across the country. We don’t want to pursue unity now, but we do want to build trust and collaboration. How about you focus on that.
@Paul__Hastings@NoLuckLopez So is The Socialist Party pursuing Solidarity, the various Communist groups (I’ve lost track) and the Greens for Unity if that’s the case?
@Bolshevice@NoLuckLopez Daniel is trying to portray Socialist Alliance as sliding into irrelevancy, declining in membership, implying there were only 10 people at our national conference. My argument is if this were the case we wouldn’t be recruiting and the organisation would be more fractured.
@NoLuckLopez@Bolshevice There were more members at our National Conference that I’d never met before than long term members I know particularly well. If Socialist Alliance was wilting on the vine we wouldn’t be recruiting and the party would be split on the question of pursuing unity at this time.
@Paul__Hastings@NoLuckLopez How is the existence of Socialist Alliance undermining The Socialist Party? Both organisations are free to recruit, run in elections, participate in campaign work etc etc. We’re not stopping you.
@Bolshevice@NoLuckLopez This is incorrect. The branch pays delegate fees on behalf of their elected delegates. This is then used to subside travel costs of those travelling from interstate.
