You might see filmy ferns growing in #ScotlandsRainforest. They're easy to mistake for moss or liverworts, but they're very very tiny ferns! The one you're most likely to see is Wilson's filmy fern, named for William Wilson, a 19th century botanist. 📷 John MacPherson
Missed this at the time. Some of the answers lie of course in the creation of woodland crofts.....

✅ Support the community and school
Currently in the pre-planning stage, homes will be tied to residency , and tenants will be chosen based on how they plan to contribute to the local area.

Exciting to hear about the recording of the Olive Moth at Brodiclea Woodland #swseic#woollypigcompany#futureforestcompany. Only 5 previous records for #Ayrshire. Its food plant is #Aspen and other poplars. Our Aspen planting in the region will hopefully lead to its expansion.
The river’s guardian: #alder 🌳 A pioneer of Scotland’s #wetlands, alder thrives along rivers and streams - holding banks together, shading the water, and boosting soil fertility.
Watch to discover the alder's role in river life.
