I went to the Presidential website and listened to the whole speech. When referring to the event she calls it "St. Patrick's Day", when referring to Ireland's patron Saint, it's first name terms only. Catherine (if the informal first name and dropping of title is appropriate for Saint Patrick, then it's more than appropriate for elected on quarter of the electorate Cathy) goes on to tell us that St. Patrick came to Ireland to "give voice and his life to fostering an awareness of the consequences of slavery..."
Meanwhile, as an anointed Bishop, in what must have been his spare time, he converted Ireland to Christianity and firmly rooted the Catholic faith in the country, he spent is life in serious prayer, fasting and preaching the Gospel. St. Patrick was not some leftie NGO. There is nothing sacred to these oddballs, not even our patron saint and the Christian faith he brought to our shores.
Davos is basically all the people who have created the problems, denied their existence and then called us names for pointing them out... explaining what the problems are and how we desperately need to fix them.
Ireland had zero obligation to be part of this. The Irish govt opted in to give taxpayers money to other states to help their migration crisis, while struggling to manage our own. Remember this the next time they tell you there’s no money for personal tax cuts.
