@The__Farmster The enjoyment of Eddie bringing the only trophy I’ve ever seen in my life at Newcastle was greater than the hurt of 2 derby defeats.
Along with 2 champions league campaigns for the 1st time in 20 years.
You’re right, what a disgrace our fan base has become.
@GraemeBailey Be sent to Strasbourg on loan and then Chelsea will buy him next summer instead. It will come out that Brighton are a feeder club for BlueCo one day, just no 1 has uncovered it yet
@adeysmith680@Nolberto099@lee_ryder Hardly Howe’s fault. Look the list of players left out, and included. Nothing Hall or Howe could have done different. Tino been included but been injured or out of form, Howe get praise for his inclusion?
@LCFC@bcgame From prem champions to league 1. Them psr rules that are meant to be for the good of the game/teams have killed you’s. Prem chiefs will be happy tho, you dared to take the title away from their big clubs
@mhardysport Think we should be aiming for higher price but it’s good to see we want it done early instead of saying we’re keeping him and getting stung again like the Isak situation
@jordancronin_ Nah mate I fully agree, it’s been a disaster from the summer onwards. But we’re where we are because of the games we’ve chucked away, not because of the games we’ve won. Game management from Eddie and effort/quality from players for 3/4 of seasons the downfall. Huge summer ahead
I want woltemade to succeed as much as anyone but Gordon is the pen taker with a great record. Big Nick needs to get himself into the box more if he wants to score goals #NUFC
PENALTY GATE
I shouldn’t even need to post about this given the great win we just got but it’s impossible to ignore given the reports that came out earlier about Woltemade considering his future, seeing these images it’s very obvious he’s not 100% happy.
And who can blame him? He’s the Germany number 9 and Eddie Howe is playing him in midfield after dropping him as a striker earlier this season. And let’s be absolutely clear he’s playing as a centre midfielder NOT as a 10 despite many wrong opinions on this.
That alone is disheartening and damaging to his career given his role for Germany. It’s quite baffling how the Newcastle fan base are just overlooking this as if it’s normal to sign a number 9 and play him as a centre midfielder. Imagine Sesko or Ektike doing this? It’s mental. We signed him for a record fee & Howe was absolutely clear he was the main striker.
Anthony Gordon was stat padding against these farmers with ease, people will say that’s grounds for him to continue up front despite the piss poor opposition and track record over the last year but obviously this was a very weak opponent. 1 goal in open play in 13 MONTHS against premier league opposition, 4 goals in 45 minutes against a pub team - great night but it doesn’t disprove the last 13 months.
Gordon bagged a hat-trick and refused to give the 2nd penalty to Woltemade, after both Woltemade & Trippier asked him to do so. We were out of sight & Gordon came across as someone who couldn’t give 2 shits about anyone but himself despite Woltemade playing a role that sacrificed for the team. Not the first time Gordon looked like he didn’t want to help Woltemade this season. The issues between the two are now clear as day.
Woltemade looked absolutely GUTTED after the second penalty as seen in the image. He knows as a “striker” he’s judged on goals despite Eddie playing him in midfield. This was a perfect opportunity to give him a role up front and get more chances and Eddie still stuck him in midfield. A vote of no confidence…
Nobody could blame Woltemade for leaving this summer as his career is going backwards under Eddie Howe and that’s a FACT. #NUFC
@LukeEdwardsTele Funny how no matter where they check for these offside decisions they never have a still of it square on. It’s always at a shit angle so these officials can influence the decisions. No other reason for it.
