one day, i took this pic of a little note in my tutor’s drawer during masters of fine art practice programme. i wasn’t supposed to see this little recipe for success but i did 🤌🏽then i printed it & stuck it on a wall in my studio (plant pot to be precise 🥹)

🌻these principles are foundational for any artist seeking to create meaningful, evolving works. otherwise, you become a desperate try hard and it shows in your art! so pay attention 🧠

1. 🌟keep your creative process engaging. when you create art that interests you, it sustains your motivation & passion.

2. ❤️‍🔥art should bring joy.
the process of creation is as important as the end product, & this helps maintain a healthy relationship with your practice. (process matters)

3. 🧪push boundaries, try new techniques, & explore different ideas. experimentation leads to innovation + keeps your work evolving. (curiosity)

4. ✊🏽every piece of art, successful or not, is an opportunity to learn. understanding what works & what doesn't is key to growth. (critical rigour)

5. 👑use your experiences & insights to refine your skills & ideas. continuous development is essential for long-term artistic growth.

So grateful to the artist for gifting me this memento from the first crypto art exhibition with Saatchi, held as part of Focus Art Fair x Iham NFT Gallery curated by @bygrida

This is a multi-layered work that weaves together satellite imagery from the river Thames, urban sounds from London, a chronicle of significant protests that defined the city, meditative water elements, a hidden portrait of the artist & her child, as well as percussive recordings 💚
