The Alternating Sum Challenge
Write a function that takes an array of integers and calculates its "alternating sum" - add the numbers at even indices and subtract the numbers at odd indices.
For example:
•For the array [5, 3, 8, 1, 4], the alternating sum would be 5 - 3 + 8 - 1 + 4 = 13
•For the array [10, 5, 8, 9], the alternating sum would be 10 - 5 + 8 - 9 = 4
Your function should work for arrays of any length. Can you solve it in one line of code?
Bonus challenge: Modify your solution to allow the user to choose whether to start with addition or subtraction.
