@HelenORahilly Hi Helen, are they encaustic tiles(cement tiles)? If so, the pigment/pattern is actually 3-4mm thick. I had a similar issue, all that was needed was a bit of sanding with 150grit sand paper and the tile looked like new. Worth the shot if the alternative is tearing them up.
