if you watched the NFL and thought something didn't feel right, you're not alone:
#1 most flags in over a decade
thru 4 weeks, refs are impacting the most CRITICAL moments of games most:
#1 most red zone penalties per game by offenses in history
#1 most penalties on 3rd/4th downs in the second half of games in history
and 17 touchdowns nullified by penalty! (vs only 5 in 2025 & 4 in 2024)
Refs are impacting the most important moments of games unlike we've ever seen before in the NFL, and even some of the coaches are speaking up

@AdobeWanKenobi_ No, but politics is dividing the country more and more.
Well, I mean people in texas want to wall off California, maybe make it a hunting preserve... But get rid of a city?
I love Herbert.
But it is time to bench him. Send a message. You can't keep gifting the god dammed ball to the other team.
This is absolutely unacceptable!
This team cannot overcome this type of mistakes.
@cutty03bk I am good with agreeing to disagree.
I am not saying for the season, but for the game.
Then again in retrospect, we would need to bench McD for the game as well.
He does not seem to be adjusting to Herbert's strengths at all. Not in my limited Football knowledge at least.
@RBtheBlaxican@kurt13warner Another point to be made, when Tua was in the MVP conversation, D's had a tough time with plays like this. Now they know and expect them.
So what is McD doing to adjust?
What is Herbert doing to adjust?
@ReviveLibrty@kurt13warner@RBtheBlaxican IMHO it is a combo. I do not think that McDs scheme is what Herbert excels at.
I have often said, put Rivers' ability to read the D in Herbert body and we are hoisting a Lombardi.
But I also think that McDs scheme of quick reads and trusting throws is not what Herbert excels at.
@RBtheBlaxican posted this image.
For a offensive guru, WTF is MD doing with so many plays where 2 pas catchers are within 5 yards of one another?
He is not spreading the D, he is compacting them, putting more D players in position to make plays.
BTW this was the first INT.
@kurt13warner Like most Chargers fans watching the game.
Is it that McDaniel is trying too much to confuse the D, that all he is accomplishing is confusing his players?
How likely is it that this just isn't the scheme for Herber?
@Tha_Frederation Maybe not fire.
I would start by saying cut the cutsie trick plays.
Reduce the confusion that has the whole O on different pages.
Put in more of what Herbert is good at, then slowly work in more of the things to confuse the D as the O gets used to the language and process.
