We have published a blog article describing our assessment workflow that we employ in order to stay clear of #PredatoryConferences 🐺🛑🐺.

@cthoyt Pretty sure that we are going to switch platforms too at some point. But not this year anymore. Thanks for asking! We will of course announce our existence on mastodon then :).
If you already want your academic event to be findable in ConfIDent and receive a DOI for it like https://t.co/RCXbqrPUvn, feel free to contact us at [email protected]! 🙂🧑🔧
@v_i_o_l_a @TIBHannover Für #PredatoryConferences haben wir mal einen Aufschlag für "halbwegs objektive Kriterien" gemacht. Ist natürlich nicht 1 zu 1 auf #predatoryJournals übertragbar.

Conference information platforms that are completely open usually fall victim to #PredatoryConference Organizers. That's why we are working on implementing a moderation layer in ConfIDent which will consist of our Predatory Identification Workflow:
https://t.co/LeRinNvzbw
One of the most important characteristics of a conference is the organizer. To clearly identify organizers we use #wikidata IDs and #RORID|s. We currently only mention organizations. We are still figuring out how to name people in a GDPR friendly fashion.

@fake_journals We just published our workflow with which we try to assess a conference's trustworthiness. Maybe it is interesting to you too: https://t.co/LeRinNew9w
@fake_journals Thanks for the interesting read. We were thinking about working towards a binary decision (indexing or not) or making the spectrum better visible too. Wrt. predatory conferences we decided not to index those cases where we are fairly certain that they are predatory.
@icsti One piece of infrastructure towards #OpenScience: Persistent identifiers for important entities in Science like conferences 🙂🤓. We have registered a DOI for #ICSTI2022 (https://t.co/kMFEP7lWNr) and its series (https://t.co/UQVwlEKXHF).
Great news: @conf_id minted a DOI for the ISI - International Symposium of Information Science as a conference series and a DOI for every single event. https://t.co/my1EV6xVO0 thanks so much for your great service @conf_id 👌
Tomorrow we will talk about ConfIDent at the "Kolloquium Wissensinfrastruktur"!
https://t.co/7vbCRz3BI6
Thanks to Jochen Schirrwagen (@ub_bi) for the organization and invitation!
Great talks at #SMWcon 2022 yesterday!
https://t.co/uah8wnrh4h
Today we will give a presentation about the platform and the technical infrastructure it is build upon.
Guess why @kelly_stathis and @mjbuys are ConfIDent about PIDs?🤔
In their latest blog post, they describe
the use of DataCite DOIs for conferences via the @conf_id platform.👇

@TIBHannover #PIDsNeedPuns#DOI
🔷 Here is #DOI 🔹https://t.co/E1ZrWebb2K for our Ist Open Science & Innovation Conference in Ukraine #OSICU2022
🔎Learn more about #ConfIDent and get #PID for your scientific event 👩🏼🎓🧑🏾🔬
In the future you will receive a DOI per default for any entry in https://t.co/kwG8oZqEUS. For now we still have to register DOIs mannually. Feel free to contact us if you want to get a DOI for an event now.
Last year we minted our first #DOI for an academic event and its series (https://t.co/2scnaXzsgS). Since then we improved upon how to use the @DataCite schema for this use case.🧑🔧
This blog post documents our recommendations in detail: https://t.co/Z93MoGur9E
