We're *finally* getting an official Toggles component in VRChat's Avatar SDK. If you've used VRCFury toggles already, this will feel similar. Called "VRC Action Driver".
Still heavily a WIP, but this will tremendously help cut down animator load.
Thats because VRChat avatar system is wierd to begin with by game design standards and it does not help the situation. Things like toggles should never be dealt with animations, thats not what animations are for.
It's mind bugling why no one in VRChat team thought to just use components, which just made things done in matter of few instructions per single user toggling and done, while animation graph need to resolve there state on every tick and animations need to run constatly.
I remember Tupper complaining how people do animation graphs improperly in early 3.0 times, how they lag other players, problem is not bad graphs but fact that animations should not be used for any of this to begin with.
It's same reason why animations should not be used to run world logic... which was the case in 2.0, which 3.0 was turn in to proper scripting with Udon... while 3.0 avatars was thrown in to same pit hole worlds been in 2,0. And avatars didn't really need scripting system at all, it needs is components. Same as components like constraints keep things in place, components can also toggle things on and off. Unity has everything you need for this.
What VRCFury and Modular trying to fix is exactly that form easy of use side of things. What those system does should be natively implemented in VRChat log time ago... and i would not be surprised that there 4.0 avatars in works doing exactly that.... i hope ;p
So I was just informed someone is selling a model of my oc. I did not approve of this and never will. People are free to make art of my oc but you DO NOT GET TO MAKE MONEY OFF OF MY ONLINE IDENTITY. I reported the post and would appreciate if others did the same.
