Isn’t it mad how religion can overrule animal rights laws, security laws on covering your face, noise nuisance laws, and even laws on carrying a dangerous weapon.
No religion should afford you extra rights, none.
LAWS SHOULD BE FOR ALL, NOT WHAT GOD YOU BELIEVE IN.
The voters of Makerfield did a disservice to the UK. After all that Labour has done to this country - they voted Labour.
Literally, Turkey's voting for Christmas.
Now we have a Labour Party spinning that they are popular, can beat all comers, and a new leader who may well be worse than Starmer.
Makerfield deserve that idiot they voted for, they deserve everything that's coming to them.
Usually correct, however, we are dealing with the Starmer factor.
None of the protestors are likely to be from his favourite demographic - so will give him another opportunity to label everyone far-right, highlight how peaceful his preferred communities are, and undoubtedly, give him a reason of yet more funding for his favourites...
@Keir_Starmer Thoughts, it's always thoughts - never action.
This and so many other incidents were and are 100% preventable. Why do you care so little about British people?
Are the votes of communities so important to you that you're willing to sacrifice so much?
Sad thing is, the really unbelievably sad thing, is - something exceptionally bad will have to happen before anything changes - and it won't be from this Government.
Labour will use it as an opportunity to crack down on the "far right", and to support Muslims even more...
Southampton wasn't a riot
@PolitlcsUK And the surprise is what exactly?
Guessing the next big reveal will be his council house, and that his extended family are here to stay too...
Political meltdown - a thought or two...
Over the last thirty, maybe forty years, politicians have taken their natural voters for granted, and focused instead on ever smaller distinct groups to gain electoral advantage.
The Conservatives assumed everyone right of centre would vote for them, and thus targeted non-traditional voter groups (the whole green thing under Cameron & Boris)
Likewise, Labour assumed everyone to the left would vote for them, freeing them up to target, for example, immigrants/religious groupings - voter groups with very little to do with the values of "traditional labour".
The focus on these marginal groups overtook Labour and the Conservatives - ignoring their core supporters who felt more and more disillusioned with the party that was meant to be representing them.
The last few Conservative Governments were more Lib-Dem than traditional Conservative governments, likewise, this Labour Government has an unhealthy fascination with immigrants and the muslim bloc vote.
Any wonder that conservative voters break towards reform for seemingly "common-sense conservative" policies, or Labour voters who vote for reform because their "morals" align more...
