Found a Fuzz Face at a thrift store. Was DOA from poor DIY. Fixed original but decided to trade 90s PCB for original repro. Still need to tidy up the wires and source some mounting screws but it is working!
Different kind of recap today. Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. Also replaced the power resistors and diodes which are now mounted 1/4” off the board to avoid the known heat issues. Still some work to do on this amp but it is back together and sounding sweet for now.
@VirtualJames The F keys are changed. They were a full gray on the original. This “orange” is the original colour for the breadbin carried over from the Vic20.
@kretro_gaming I think the light-sixer is probably the best 2600 model for modding. IMO heavy-sixers should be kept stock. Just put a UAV in a light-sixer and need to do the caps and other improvements next.
@leonkiriliuk Yes, I have Crayon King RGB in my main unit. Definitely better output. He doesn’t have any inventory on eBay right now and I kind of wanted to challenge myself to build a circuit from scratch anyway.
Did a quick composite mod on this Sears Intellivision I picked up this week. Was able to do it with parts on hand. Opted to add a tail rather than drill this somewhat rare case. Next up, caps.
My Bally Astrocade was completely dead. I did a capkit and power was restored but had black screen. Went on a trip to Kansas to see Allen and it turned out to be the crystal and not one of the custom chips. Phew.
