🎉 Ever Wonder Why San Antonio Celebrates Fiesta? 🎉

Fiesta San Antonio is more than just a colorful parade of events – it's a historic tradition that began all the way back in 1891! 🇺🇸🌺

It started as a parade to honor the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto, two battles that helped shape Texas’ independence. Locals organized the very first "Battle of Flowers Parade," where they tossed flowers at each other in celebration in front of the Alamo. 🌸

Over the years, that simple tribute has grown into a citywide, 10-day celebration with over 100 events – parades, food festivals, concerts, art fairs, and more! 🎶🌮🎨

For me, Fiesta holds an extra special place in my heart.
Growing up in San Antonio, every year I looked forward to heading downtown with my mom, who volunteered at a booth during NIOSA (A Night in Old San Antonio). 🌟 Me and my friends would spend the night eating all kinds of amazing food, laughing, and chasing each other around with cascarones (those colorful confetti eggs!). 🌈 The parades were always my favorite part — the floats, the music, the vibrant colors lighting up the streets — pure magic!

Today, Fiesta still represents:
