I also understand that the funds in his campaign committee aren’t transferable and will likely go to covering his own campaign debt... Regardless, the messaging stinks. It feels over-consulted and incredibly inappropriate given the circumstances.

Received this fundraising text yesterday: patting ourselves on the back for calling on a nominee with credible SA allegations to drop out, followed immediately by an ask for money does NOT feel like a winning strategy.

Asking Platner to drop out is literally the bare minimum.

There will be no "gotchas" when the quarterly reports come out. Likely, there will be one name: JB Pritzker.

Is this a winning strategy? I don't know. But will it unite some Democrats to get behind him? I sure think so.

A man who will not only decry outside spending on his own behalf, but who doesn't need to take a dime of money from anyone. Even directly to his campaign. On the debate stage, while fingers are pointed at which candidates are beholden to which groups, Pritzker can rise above it.

Why wait until the deadline date? Could very well be out of pettiness, or, to try to demand a say in the party process of choosing his replacement? Maybe at the 11th hour he threatens to not withdrawal unless he gets to choose who takes over the nomination.
