@HMRCcustomers Ok, thanks for your support Sofia but the HMRC service remains frustrating. Irony is I explained in the personal tax refund application that I moved overseas, hence the reason for the application, and yet HMRC still sent a cheque to a previous address I was not living at.

@HMRCcustomers Ok, so just to reiterate that the international number never seems to work (tried numerous times in two months), neither does the web chat. How can I contact your helpline from Indonesia? Is there way I can appoint a family member to call on my behalf from the UK?

@HMRCcustomers I do yes, but they won’t have access to my previous address in the U.K. as the keys were handed back to the landlord. Is there an option for the cheque to be cancelled and a bank transfer to my U.K account instead? I know a friend of mine was able to do this via bank transfer?

@HMRCcustomers No that’s the issue. I gave up my tenancy when I left the UK.
