A third Russian has been shielded from EU sanctions by Bulgaria, which threatened to veto the sanctions package if these 3 Kremlin-linked individuals were not selected from the sanctions list.
Bulgaria’s actions are entirely against Article 4 TEU.

@BrigitteEmpire Some clues for you. The murders in Salford. The scoping of your pipelines. The shots at your yacht. The interference in your free elections. The rhetoric of your nuclear annihilation. Your enemy and ours (Ireland) …Russia.
@SlavaMalamud@iocmedia Like FIFA the top brass only exist to make and distribute money. It’s purely and absolutely money first and sport second. IOC makes bank from private sponsors not the EU. The tactic is non participation. Every EU state should be saying. We won’t go. In unison.
Beautiful Lviv Ukraine. 🇺🇦 Regularly attacked but defiant and self confident. This is one of Ukraines lucky cities. Far away from the front and the glide bombs and ballistics. Totally European. Like the rest of Ukraine people here will never accept life as a Russian colony.
@HMcEntee Ireland of today is much better than it was 40-50 years ago no matter what the nay sayers say. Europe is not responsible for poor Irish social investments during the rich times. We are collectively responsible with our nimbyism and willingness to permit sacrilegious gov waste.
This photo must be seen by the entire world so people understand what Russia truly is.
A mother is holding her child as tightly as she can, trying to shield them with her own body while Russia drops guided аerial bоmbs on Sumy.
No child should grow up in a reality like this. No mother should have to become a human shield to protect her child.
@JayinKyiv Russian terrorists doing what they have for four years. Aiming their bombs from safe distance to murder young children. Never forgive this violent rogue state.
Allowing Russia to compete at the Olympics would legitimize a state responsible for countless documented war crimes and some of the worst atrocities of the 21st century.
International sporting events are routinely exploited by authoritarian regimes to reinforce domestic propaganda, bolster international legitimacy, and normalize their conduct.
At best, the IOC is allowing itself to be used as a vehicle for Kremlin propaganda; at worst, it is helping normalize Russia’s crimes on the international stage.
Last night, Kyiv came under a massive Russian attack. Russia launched 68 missiles and 351 attack drones. Response efforts are still underway. Damage has been recorded at more than 10 locations across the city, including residential buildings. All necessary services are on the ground, doing everything possible to rescue people and provide assistance to everyone who needs it. So far, 64 people have been rescued, including two children. As of now, it has been confirmed that, tragically, eleven people were killed in this attack. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Around 60 more people were injured.
In the Kyiv region, sixteen people were injured and three people were killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. A fire is still burning at the site of the missile strike in Vyshneve. People are being evacuated from a residential area. More than 400 first responders and police officers have been deployed to deal with the aftermath of the attack.
Our warriors performed well today in intercepting drones and cruise missiles, but unfortunately not Russian ballistic missiles. And the reason lies in the insufficient supply of interceptor missiles. It is critically important that the world – first and foremost the United States and our European partners – come out of the NATO Summit in Ankara with strong decisions in support of our air defense, and thus the protection of ordinary people’s lives. As long as Patriot missiles remain in our allies' stockpiles, Russia is only encouraged to keep “vanquishing” residential buildings. The United States and Europe have enough strength to stop this terror.
@geraldineCosgr2@BrigidLaffan Russians “negotiated” with Georgia Chechnya Syria and Crimea prior to launching terrorist attacks on each followed by a full scale invasion of Ukraine. Russians are the aggressor. Ukraine is the victim. Simple really.
Russia is already lying about Kyiv, pretending this was about “military targets.”
Hotels are burning. Apartment blocks are burning. Civilians are still trapped under the rubble.
I went on @SkyNews to say the obvious: Russia is talking absolute shit.
Horror! The moment a Russian drone struck a swimming pool in Zaporizhzhia while swimmers were inside.
Russia: We only attack military targets.
No, you don't. You filthy terrorists attack exclusively civilian targets and have already committed over 230,000 war crimes.
Filthy scum.
@MichealMartinTD@ZelenskyyUa 100% support. Ukraine today is the same as four years ago. The victim of unprovoked Russian savagery. But today it is turning stoic resistance into real results.
Russia’s attacks on Kyiv’s Pershka Lavra are deplorable.
Attacks like this are why I have announced sanctions to target the vessels, the money and the actors propping up Russia’s war economy, and in turn, threatening European security.
We will increase the pressure on Putin and his circle of collaborators until Russia’s war machine is brought to a halt and peace returns to our continent.
@CaolanReports Shameful thuggery. But it’s only the extremists and the fringe minority. They ran 61 far right candidates in the last Gen Election and landed 0 seats. The vast majority condemn these threats.
