Paco León, the Spanish actor and director, wrote a text about ROSALÍA in his latest Instagram post:

“Just six and a half years ago, I met her. With her song Catalina and her album Los Ángeles, many of us were completely won over by the obvious. Up close, she was, as Guitarricadelafuente says, sweet but ‘crunchy,’ like a crema catalana. Very curious about everything, we went to see a micro-theater show. At that time, people were only asking me for photos.

Later, with a beer in my hand, I got a bit paternal and asked her if she wasn’t overwhelmed by the album’s success. Without a trace of arrogance, she took my hand and, pulling me out of my naivety, said:
‘No, Paco, this is just the beginning. I want to mix flamenco with electronic music, put on a big show with dancers, and I see myself in the United States winning a Grammy… blah blah.’

At that moment I thought:
‘What is this crazy girl talking about?’
She didn’t seem delusional, she seemed like she had everything very clear, and in a gesture of caution, she added:
‘Let’s see, maybe it won’t work out. But I have something to say, and I’m going to give it everything I’ve got.’

The rest is history, and you already know it. Her success isn’t upward, it moves in every direction. More and more free, deeper and deeper, more and more unique.
