“St George in Retirement Syndrome”
A bloodthirsty warrior is great to have around when there are enemies everywhere. They become a serious problem when your enemies are all slain but the blood lust continues.
Inspired by @DouglasKMurray fantastic book ‘The Madness of Crowds’
Exactly. The harder you work the bigger the tip. If you feel like phoning it in or it’s the end of your shift and can’t be arsed…that’s fine, the server won’t expect a tip and the customer isn’t expected to give one. It’s a mutual understanding
It’s an odd one because a lot of Americans think this is strange but this is how it’s done in every single country in the world except for one…America
I agree with you…but only for the United States. It’s a hole that your leaders have dug for you by allowing company’s to pay their servers peanuts and make them rely on tips. It’s gone too far and gone on too long now to correct as an increase in wages could only be tolerated Starbucks etc… and all the little family businesses would struggle.
In Australia (where I live) and the UK (where I’m from) and all over Europe, the price is the price because their servers are paid well. If a steak dinner is $25 that’s what you pay. A tip is optional after that. Most people do give tips, however the tip is directly proportional to how much effort/how competent the server is/how much they improved your dining experience.
This is why visitors to America are perplexed when some rude server insults you, slams your food down, makes your dining experience worse then wants you to pay an extra 20% for the privilege.
Like I say though it’s a tough situation because the USA has gone so far down this road it’s too hard to change and customers being expected to tip more is probably the least worse solution.
Sorry about the long reply 🤣. Thought you might like an outsiders opinion
P.s. the video is totally fake btw. 👍👍
@starwatcher333@NotFarLeftAtAll I’m sure some time away from their algorithm will help the mental illnesses subside a bit.
Imagine the horror of realising you’ve simply been in a bubble all along and it was all a terrible mistake…but now you’re in prison with another 5 & a half years left to serve. Brutal
@NotFarLeftAtAll What has this country become?? All they did was smash their way into a facility with a van, cause loads of criminal damage then attack a police woman with a sledgehammer breaking her spine.
Surely this is a yellow card at best??
I broke my neck and became paralysed. I started painting and made that my life. Whilst still not wealthy, I love this little business that I’ve built and it’s given me a completely new appreciation for anyone who has built their own.
The unsuccessful shaking down the successful will never fix the problem
@ThatJohnJones@Sorelle_Arduino Yeah your right. I used to think he was a man of the people…but it’s more that he’s a man of the people who go to Kensington dinner parties.
He still believes he’s a supporter of the working class, so long as they agree with him. If not he considers them vile and evil
