We know how much the Government loves sticking to its promises, unfortunately they're a bit behind on this one.

7⃣ Continued native forest logging

Deforestation and logging is a significant contributor to our greenhouse gas emissions.

Ending native forest logging has overwhelming public support, but the Govt refused a national ban on native forest logging at the ALP Conference. 🤷

2⃣ $11.1 billion spent on fossil fuel subsidies

Despite pledges to help Pacific countries adapt to the existential threat of climate change, Australia is giving far more aid to fossil fuel companies than to our Pacific neighbours.

3⃣ The Govt has approved 4 new coal projects since its election.

Opening new gas and coal mines is incompatible with limiting dangerous climate change.

4⃣ Continued expansion of the gas industry.

5⃣ The Sea Dumping Bill (aka the favour for Santos)

Apparently, it will ‘safeguard’ the marine environment by allowing the gas industry to pump carbon dioxide under the seabed.

Australia is the world’s third-largest fossil fuel exporter, and currently has 116 new fossil fuel projects in the pipeline.
