You take that experience and then look for something better paying.

@KristySellsLV It becomes simple. Urban sprawl leads to higher demand for many homes to provide shorter and easier commutes to workplaces.

Living in the boonies can mean 1.5 hrs of commute time. Homes are cheaper but it all comes down to the screwed up anti car transit plans.
