It’s a testament to the piss poor level of instruction most “Christians” are getting in American churches that anyone could say this with a straight face.

At its base, Christianity is about free will - aka, CHOOSING to follow Jesus Christ and his commands. Not once did Jesus advocate for using the state to FORCE people to live like Christians.

In fact, in doing so you likely hinder the ability for people to make that true choice on their own, which requires a change of heart that wants to live differently. You also are advertising your own failure as a “Christian” (I doubt people who think like this truly are, personally). If you were living out your actual faith as you’re called to your witness would be leading people to Christ and helping them have that heart-changing encounter with God. Changed behavior would inevitably follow. No force or laws necessary. But instead they behave like this, which turns more people away from God in the end.

This is why Christianity is dying in the US and why the culture continues to move further away from its values. These people are no different than Muslim extremists in other nations that uphold Sharia Law. They’re cut from the same cloth and both are really members of cults vs true believers in God who’ve been transformed in His image.
