A week ago I was calling all my football friends on how proud I was of the Socceroos and the heroic World Cup efforts. Last night I was calling them to let them know I got home safe from an @aleaguemen’s match with my 11yr old son. This should not have happened. Numb. #melbderby
@brucehodllee58k I think you mean APL not A-League. But no-one deserves and brings this sort of vile violent acts on themselves. Yes Glover shouldn’t have thrown it back into the crowd, but it does excuse what happened next.
@BirdNatalie3 He was scared to leave the stadium holding my hand tight walking out. He loves this game as much as I do but worried this could tarnish his view of watching future games live due to not feeling safe.
@orsmism @BirdNatalie3 We should have been celebrating the return of our World Cup heroes battling it out on the pitch. Not battling it out with these moronic spectators.
@BirdNatalie3 Exactly. Using our game as an excuse for a fight. The sad part is so many young football fans (like my 11yr old son) saw this disgusting behavior unfold tonight live. And many families will choose not to take their kids back to a game. A part of the game died tonight. Very sad.
@claringbold_tom Does not excuse the behavior of these idiots storming the pitch! Yes he shouldn’t have thrown the flare back, but you can’t tell me this is justified? You could tell something was going to happen tonight too after kick off. There was a different (angry APL) energy in the crowd.
@Lukedm85 Sickening mate, just gutted for the game. Can’t believe what we witnessed tonight. And for Eli to see it too. These angry idiots using our beautiful game to take out their anger is abhorrent.
Back home safe with my 11yr old son, but still can’t get my head around what we witnessed tonight. The game I love, being completely destroyed right in front of our eyes. Shattered and shocked by the actions of these so called Victory fans. Feel completely sick about it.
So… the walkout. Does that mean we can come back in again or is that it?? I am with my son, and we really want to support the walkout at 20mins but he also really wants to watch the game 😬.
@RIPALeagues I was at the game too. Just watched the full replay. Still hard to watch. I remember James Afkos missed at the end - the Co Chairman’s son. Where are all these Glory supporters now??
@ThisIsDoogie@gomvfc Is this on Paramount? I just watched the 1st episode of the Aleaue All Access with Nani. Getting in the mood for tomorrow night’s walk out 😬.
On the back of the success of the Socceroos at the World Cup we should be trying to build on the game here in Australia, not kill it! Disgracefully selfish act by the league, completely turning their back on the real fans.

@vuck_shady Munich Brauhaus is our shout. Good screens, good sound. As amazing as Fed Square was, no prematch was annoying and you couldn’t really hear the game either. I really want to watch it this time, take it all in with prematch. Fed Square will almost be too busy. Not sure about Aami
