The Head of The King’s School, Canterbury - Jude Lawson - has written to former pupils saying: “Given the sensitivity of this matter, I would be grateful if you could refrain from commenting on social media and instead come to us directly with any concerns or questions.”
What? That there was a paedophile operating in their junior school for decades and they did not discover this until it was far too late? Is the desire to stop people commenting more rooted in this boarding school’s reputational damage limitation than any genuine concern for former pupil welfare?

Julieta is not here today. She is a case of feminicide committed neither by a husband nor in a public space. The feminicide law in Brazil is incomplete and needs more work and resources to operate. Brazil is showing how people can work together to make society more just and equal
Today, Brazil “walks” against feminicide. Julieta: clown, migrant, Venezuelan — three of Julieta’s many identities, which she assumed with responsibilities. Her video here is about that @palhacossemfronteiras https://t.co/3XeLbkcTC8
There is much work on justice, safety, dignity, and education to prevent violence and extreme violence against women, both in private and public spaces.
Tomorrow, 7 Dec, women across Brazil will march against feminicide. Julieta, my niece, has been one of the victims of feminicide in Brazil, in Presidente Figueiredo, Amazonas, on 23 December 2023. @julietaporsiempre https://t.co/fYlDp56tqd

This is not about journalists giving people a voice or amplifying their voices; it's about them voicing their own voices. My proposal comes from my thesis at Birkbeck University, where I completed my MA in Journalism.
Thank you, Inclusive Journalism. It has been a long journey, and now I am looking ahead. My focus is moving forward to better serve people's interests through participatory journalism, where interviewees actively participate in their reports.
