6/13 — THE MUA CLOSED ITS TRAINING FUND ONE DAY AFTER THE ROYAL COMMISSION WAS ESTABLISHED

Volume 2 of the Heydon Royal Commission Final Report, Chapter 1.1, the Maritime Employees Training Fund case study.

The chapter examines payments by four dredging companies, Van Oord Australia, Dredging International, Jan De Nul and Boskalis, to a set of MUA-linked entities: METL (Maritime Employees Training Limited), the WA Seafarers' Assistance Programme (WASP), and the MUA WA Branch's own Training and Development Fund.

At paragraph 3 (page 6) the Commissioner writes on the Training Fund's structure: "The Training Fund was a bank account established by the Executive of the MUA WA Branch to be used for the training of members of that branch.

On 13 March 2014, one day after the Commission's Letters Patent were issued and 33 days after the decision to set up the Royal Commission was announced, the Training Fund was closed."

Read that back.

The MUA WA Branch closed its Training Fund one day after the Royal Commission's Letters Patent were issued. Thirty-three days after the decision to set up the Commission was announced. Different case study. Different union. Different state. Same architecture.

At paragraph 6 (page 7) the Commissioner accepts the MUA's own characterisation of the Training Fund, the WASP and the OH&S Fund: "Those three 'funds' are not 'separate entities'. They are simply bank accounts of the MUA."

Bank accounts of the MUA. Simply bank accounts.

The Incolink Training Fund, Volume 4, Chapter 11, paragraph 28: "appears in practice to operate as little more than a bank account." Same finding. Different union family.

The dollar movements. Van Oord Australia paid more than $1.2 million to METL over the period examined. Van Oord paid $56,200 to WASP on 7 December 2012. Van Oord paid $56,200 to the Training Fund on 11 February 2013. Van Oord paid $56,200 to WASP on 14 June 2013. Van Oord paid $50,000 sponsorships to MUA state conferences.

Steelman: METL is a legitimate Group Training Organisation servicing the maritime industry. The WASP and OH&S Fund provided real member welfare services. The joint industrial-agreement architecture, where employer contributions fund training and welfare initiatives, is a lawful feature of Australian enterprise bargaining. Dredging companies negotiate with the MUA in a legitimate collective bargaining process. Sponsorship of state conferences is a standard industrial practice.

The point stands.

The 2015 Royal Commissioner made a "bank account" finding on the Incolink Training Fund. He made the same finding on the MUA Training and Development Fund. Both times the fund was structured so employer contributions flowed via an ostensibly-independent vehicle to union-controlled destinations. The MUA closed its fund one day after the Royal Commission was formally established.

That is the timing on the primary record.

Ten years on, the Incolink Training Fund is still in place; it paid MBV $16.7 million in FY25 alone.

The MUA finding is not an isolated Incolink problem. It is the architecture of Australian construction and maritime industrial finance.

What I’ve uncovered has been deeply disturbing. Had I never taken the time to look for myself, I wouldn’t have believed much of it either.

Part of what started me on this journey was my experience with the WA Labor Government. I could never understand why my calls and emails were ignored, despite the work we were doing.

Shalom House is entirely self-funded. We receive no government funding or grants, yet we support around 160 residents—men, women and children—and don’t cost taxpayers a single cent.

I also had to understand why so much effort appeared to be directed at stopping us from succeeding. That included five years in the courts, planning scheme changes that I believe were introduced without public consultation, changes to the community purpose of the Craigie site, and what I saw as the use of sections of the media and public institutions against us.

Those experiences forced me to ask a simple question: Why?

The deeper I looked, the more I began to understand how influence, power and money can shape decisions that affect all Australians.

I have done nothing wrong, and I am doing nothing wrong. Because of everything we’ve faced, I have made sure Shalom House operates with an exceptionally high standard of governance, transparency and accountability.

After more than 26 years in and out of prisons and children’s homes, I believe I have finally found the answer to the question that has driven me for most of my life: why our systems keep producing the same outcomes, generation after generation.

Whether people agree with me or not is their choice. My commitment is simply this: to follow the evidence wherever it leads, admit when I’m wrong, and never stop asking questions.

Anika Wells' $67.6 million Journalism Assistance Fund is part paying the wages of more than 2,000 journalists, and more than half the money went to just four ownership groups.

Nine took $16.1 million. Seven's side of the new Southern Cross group took $11.3 million. Crikey, The Conversation, The Saturday Paper and Mamamia are all there.

News Corp, Sky News and The Guardian were barred from even applying. Opinion writing doesn't count as news under the government's own rules. And no funded newsroom ever has to tell its readers.

The fund ran dry in 28 days. One recipient was two days old. Another collapsed five weeks later.

Accenture paid him $35 million. Now he sits at Labor’s Cabinet table.

And it’s all legal.

$35 million. That’s what Accenture reportedly paid Andrew Charlton for his consulting firm in 2020. He stayed on as one of their managing directors.

Two years later, Labor parachuted him into Parramatta. Today he’s Cabinet Secretary and Assistant Minister for the Digital Economy, sitting at the centre of the same government handing Accenture roughly $300 million a year in contracts.

The same Accenture behind the BOM website disaster. $31 million contract, extended nine times, finished at $78 million. Same Accenture that got rewarded after the stuff-up with new deals from Defence, the AEC, and yes, another government website.

Now, let’s be fair. I checked Charlton’s register of interests myself. No Accenture shares. No Accenture directorship. He exited clean.

But here’s what I found instead. His entire $40 million fortune sits in three boxes on the public record: a family trust, a private investment company, and a unit trust. Each one described with a single word, “Investment.”

That’s it. That’s all the law requires him to tell you.

So ask the obvious question: can anyone check whether any minister still has money riding on companies winning contracts from their own government? No. The register names the boxes. It can’t open them.

And the bloke across the chamber? Angus Taylor. Seven years at McKinsey. Both sides of the dispatch box, one consulting industry, and a disclosure system built not to look too hard.

He’s followed every rule. That’s exactly the problem.

“He leased an Australian port to China, then took $880,000 a year from the buyer.”

A Trade Minister signed off a 99-year lease of an Australian port to a Chinese company. The day before he left politics, that same company put him on $880,000 a year.

This one’s been on the public record for years, and it still stops me cold every time.

In 2015, Andrew Robb was the federal Trade Minister. On his watch, the Port of Darwin was leased to Landbridge Group, controlled by Chinese billionaire Ye Cheng, a member of the CPPCC, an advisory body to the Chinese Communist Party. The lease runs 99 years.

On 1 July 2016, the day before the federal election, with Robb on his way out of Parliament, Landbridge began paying him a consultancy worth $880,000 a year. The terms: $73,000 a month for “strategic advice.” No specified deliverables. Thirty days’ notice to end it.

The ministerial standards say a former minister should wait eighteen months before cashing in on their portfolio. Robb waited zero days. He took roughly $2 million from Landbridge before quitting the arrangement in 2019, just ahead of the new foreign-influence register that would have required him to declare it.

I’m not alleging a crime. No crime has been found, and I’m not a court. What I’m pointing at is the structure: the decision in office, the beneficiary, the destination after office, the timing. Lease the port, leave the Parliament, bank the money. All legal. That’s exactly what should worry you.

This is what “legal corruption” looks like in Australia. Not envelopes of cash. A consultancy contract, signed on the way out the door, from the company you just did the favour for.

🔥🔥Anthony Pratt - The largest beneficiary of Australia's single-use plastic bans!

Supermarket paper bags, cardboard inserts for reusable shopping bags, paper straws, plates, cups, and takeaway containers. Virtually every common alternative to single-use plastic is produced by Pratt's company Visy. This includes products suspected of releasing microplastics.

Pratt is also a major player in the recycling business, handling paper, glass, and low-grade plastics. That recycling process itself is suspected of significantly increasing microplastics in waterways and food supplies.

We are talking about an industry worth well over $10 billion a year in Australia alone. Pratt operates similar businesses in Germany, the UK, Canada, and the US.

He donates to both major political parties. He has hired former prime ministers and premiers as consultants and advisers, including Tony Abbott, Paul Keating, Scott Morrison, and Daniel Andrews.

Visy has received substantial government co-investment for recycling upgrades. One example is a $42.5 million project in Victoria, with $24 million coming from federal and state governments for advanced paper recycling technology.

Ministers, including environment ministers, have attended Pratt-hosted fundraisers while his company was bidding on recycling contracts, such as the Container Deposit Scheme.

Visy actively promotes and supplies these alternatives precisely as the bans roll out, while Pratt speaks publicly about recycling and jobs.

It was always a lie. A multibillion-dollar lie.

🇦🇺 I’ve been around the world and sadly Australia is one of the most corrupt countries I’ve ever experienced. What makes it uniquely corrupt is that they pretend the corruption isn’t there, and will gas light you if you point it out.

Our politicians are constantly being bribed by foreign interest groups. They recieve kick backs in the form of free legal services from Mark Liebler, free overseas’s trips to Israel, financial bribes and promises of work post political stints (like former prime minister Scomo working in India in a visa office).

If the state decides it doesn’t like you they will instruct the police to look the other way if you are being stalked and harassed for years. The law is NEVER applied equally, it’s applied in terms of how powerful or loud you are, they have a term for this in an attempt to legitimise the bias “in the public interest”. A former police commissioner’s son blew up in a drug lab and no one mentioned it again. People are beaten up and arrested for protesting constantly. Secret agencies are themselves infiltrated by foreign actors while pretending to look for foreign actors.

The education sector? Corrupt. If they decide they don’t like you they can break their own rules to try to deny you a degree or a PhD. Scholarships are invented for the daughters of prime ministers (I’m looking at you Tony Abbott). If a professor has a negative opinion of Israel they will be fired or threatens with being fired, Tim Anderson, Sujatha Fernandes. Other professors like Dylan Jayatilaka and Gerd Schröder-Turk are penalised for speaking to the media about the low standards of their universities . Even the people who handled “integrity and standards” within the universities are corrupt and the unions that are supposed to help you are AWOL.

Don’t get me started on the fact that we don’t have a free press. When a journalist steps out of line they get lawfared like @MaryKostakidis and @antoinette_news . Freedom of speech, non existent.

Australia’s corruption wouldn’t even be so bad compared to the rest of the world if we were allowed to acknowledge that it is there.

DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHO REALLY RUNS THIS COUNTRY?

It’s not who you voted for. I’ve spent months in the official records, AEC returns, the lobbyist register, Senate inquiries, ATO data.

What I found scares the hell out of me.

Start with the money. Every single year for 27 years, a group of companies has funded Labor AND the Coalition at the same time. Never fewer than 24 of them. Last year, 94, the biggest on record. They don’t bet on a winner. They buy both. Add $1 billion in dark money since 1999 that nobody can trace, and five donors supplying a quarter of ALL party funding this century.

Now the names. Andrew Robb signed the China trade deal as minister, then walked into an $880,000 a year job with Landbridge, the Chinese company holding the 99 year lease on Darwin Port.

Christopher Pyne ran Defence, then advised EY on defence.

Julie Bishop ran Foreign Affairs, then joined the board of an aid contractor feeding off her old department.

Both cleared.

Marise Payne, another former foreign minister, now works for a lobbying firm. The Grattan Institute found 1 in 4 ministers end up working for the industries they used to regulate. The rule against it has never once produced a real penalty.

Behind them, a record 707 registered lobbyists and over 2,000 unregistered pass holders roaming Parliament’s private corridors with no record of who they meet. When one senator pushed for an inquiry, Labor and the Liberals teamed up to kill it. The one thing they always agree on.

Then your money. Federal contracts to the big four consultancies grew 1,270% in a decade. PwC charged taxpayers nearly $1 million for a Robodebt report it never delivered, an 8 slide PowerPoint, while leaking our secret tax plans to clients like Google.

KPMG stands accused of billing Defence for work never done, after hiring almost 100 ex Defence staff.

Nobody went to jail for any of it.

And the payback? Over 1,100 companies earning $100 million plus paid ZERO income tax in 2023-24. The ATO published the list itself.

Who tells you about all this?

Four companies control 84% of our newspapers. Only Brazil has a more concentrated media on the planet.

Follow the loop:

●Hidden money funds the parties.

●Ministers retire into the industries they regulated.

●Those industries pay nothing back.

And the megaphone deciding what you hear is owned by a handful of boardrooms.

You’ve thrown the government out four times since 1998. Not one part of that loop was interrupted for a single year.

Labor and Liberal aren’t driving the car. They’re taking turns holding the wheel while someone else owns the road.

None of it is illegal. That’s the problem.

Every party in Canberra has a machine behind it. I spent weeks mapping them. You’re paying for part of it.

I’m not talking about a conspiracy. I’m talking about things written in budget papers, court judgments and the organisations’ own websites.

Here’s what the map shows. Behind every political party sits a layer of think tanks that write their ideas. Behind that sits private money, $1.2 billion flowed to the major parties over 22 years, and a third of it came through entities that don’t have to say where it’s from. Behind that sit investment funds the parties own outright. And behind all of it sit international networks that have been running this play since before your grandparents could vote.

Labor has its machine. The Coalition has its machine. The Greens have one. Even the teals built one. They fight each other on the telly every night, but none of them built their own engine.

The thinking happens in rooms most Australians have never heard of.

And here’s the bit that got me. Four of these think tanks, Labor’s, the Liberals’, the Nationals’ and the Greens’, are funded by you, through a Finance Department program almost nobody knows exists.

Over the coming days I’m going to walk you through the whole machine. Layer by layer. Every claim sourced. Both sides held to the same standard. When I get something wrong, I’ll correct it.

Because the parties change. The machine doesn’t.

And none of it is illegal. That’s the problem.

Australia's Bureau of Meteorology has been audited station by station. The report reveals that the agency has systematically erased cooling trends from the historical record, replacing them with synthetic warming.

At Rutherglen, Victoria for example, raw data from 1913 to 2006 showed a cooling trend. But the Bureau's adjusted chart flips this into warming. No physical justification, just statistical sleight of hand.

Comparisons at Deniliquin also reveals the tactic - how past highs have been lowered to fit the narrative. Minimums from 1910 onward here are reduced by as much as 1.8C. These edits weren't based on new evidence. They were applied decades later by opaque homogenization models.

The report's author calls it the rewriting of Australia's temperature history. But it's not just happening in Australia. Climate agencies in the UK and US have also cooled the past so as to exaggerate or even fabricate modern warming trends.

This manipulated data is then paraded as truth by politicians and the media with the original measurements buried.

This is Deborah Richards, a judge in the Toowoomba District Court in Queensland.

She recently presided over a case where a 29 year old Iraqi refugee (Salah Sulaiman Almuhama) lured a 14 yo schoolgirl via Snapchat by offering to sell her a vape. He picked her up at school, drove her to a remote lookout, gave her $50, pulled down her pants and "forced sexual acts on her" after she told him she was 15. He then dropped the child at a hotel. Originally he was charged with rape, but that was dropped in a plea deal and he walked into court to plead guilty on the less serious charge of "indecent treatment of a child under 16" and supplying a smoking product to a minor.

Instead of locking this pedophile up and throwing away the key, the woke judge Deborah Richards decided the REAL problem was the risk he might actually be deported if she issues a strict sentence. So, she found so-called "exceptional circumstances" including his visa sob story and the "great hardship" he might face if deported back to Iraq, and handed him a fully suspended sentence. She let him walk straight out of court a free man. No jail time. No proper punishment. And thanks to Deborah, his visa wasn't automatically cancelled, and now, deportation is almost impossible.

This is the Australia we live in now. Degenerate judges care more about protecting useless imported pedophiles than they do about underage schoolgirls. The victim is left with nothing.

Well, while the cowardly Liberals and Labor stayed quiet and have been too spineless to call this out, One Nation senator Tyron Whitten was furious in the senate last week at the system the Labor/Liberal duopoly have created to allow these judges to destroy our society like this and demanded immediate deportation. This follows One Nation's crystal clear policy to take the power away from these activist judges and require an instant and mandatory deportation of ANY foreigner convicted of ANY crime. No more right to appeal, no sob stories about oppression back home, nothing. They want to treat being in Australia a privilege, not a right. Only One Nation will slam the borders shut, and if you commit a crime we throw you the fuck out, NEVER to be allowed back in.
