@paulvienneau1 During the original six I often remember hearing the Stanley Cup was awarded in March. The first time the cup was awarded in June was 92. Since then the league has expanded by 11 teams from 21 to 32. The cup is regularly awarded into the second week of June now, sometimes later.
I don't like hearing the #nhl should expand playoffs because the same number of teams get in now as when there were 21 teams. 16 was too many back then. The regular season should eliminate AT LEAST 50% of teams from the playoffs.
@Joel64891596@Rontzeeez Nobody is perfect. That was never the point. The player himself asked not to be drafted and it was done anyway. Mistakes shouldn't always be permanent stains, but they need to carry appropriate consequences. He should have earned a second chance not been given a free pass.
@ChrisSharpeCP @DaveSalter_ Parker also spet part of the 1991 ( I believe) season with the Jays, but didn't qualify for the playoff roster because he was added too late in the season.
@DaveSalter_ I'm not even a Habs fan so it's all good to me. I just think that Monahan has a little bit more gas in the tank than being a next to useless player in the trade.
@DaveSalter_ That's a fair assessment Dave, but if Monahan has a reasonable, season he could turn into a third round pick at the deadline. Not bad for a salary dump.
@DaveSalter_ It's symbolic of an outdated view that the player is less deserving because his team never won the cup. The question should never be who won more, but who would you rather have on your team.
