Just so I can pin this to my feed. We sent Mum off in style. Laughs, tears, one ‘sod Covid’ hug between two tearful Sons - and a beautiful afternoon on the 25th.
@DevonshireDan1@SVPhillimore Beware the 40+ transitioner who, naming no names, infiltrates political parties where his delusions are affirmed and his rise to a position of influence is never questioned.
I don’t agree. At least with regards to a conspiracy. It is perfectly possible (and imho more likely) that what i presume you’re referring to can be explained by a post colonial and ideological ‘social contagion’ and the resultant attempt by those caught up in the advancement of their “moral virtue” to be seen as exemplars of the new ‘religion’. The effect can be the same - but to assume anything more seems to me to be fanciful.
Blimey. I’ve known a few cranks in my time. Can’t say I considered you amongst them. Although I did reference you once and being crank-adjacent myself, hope the (uncalled for by you) association hasn’t harmed your reputation, deserved as it is, of dogged journalism.
Keep up the good work.
@BBCR4Sunday re AI and faith/religion/church attitude to artificial intelligence…
Could do worse than listen to this wonderful BBC Radio play starring David Calder
“Alpha” examines issues of artificial intelligence from the viewpoint of established Christian teaching on the soul and human existence in the world. It addresses the existence of God and whether humans have free will or are nothing more than human automata.
Awesome first 30 seconds.
Worth a listen.

The year is 1984.
I’m dancing in front of Thomas Dolby. Sweating and wondering if I look like a twat - but caught up in them moment.
I’ll get a kebab on the way home. Had my first one the other day. God , they’re good. Even if the chilli sauce takes a bit of getting used to.
I’ve also had my first cigarette. Christ they’re horrible and I can’t I imagine that in a few years time how I could ever drive 15 miles to the 24hr garage at 3am because “we’re out of Marlboro”.
And do so quite happily too.
