We saw the current government’s critique of Agenda 111 in opposition. You would think the lesson from that would have taught us to conduct a proper needs assessment and if applicable, pilot the 24-hour markets before rolling them out nationwide.

But nope. All districts have been directed to commit a quarter of their Common Fund to 24-hour markets. We are demolishing existing structures and building new ones without first establishing whether there is sufficient demand for these markets.

We will end up with uncompleted buildings all over the country. And then move on to the next big project. No national learning. Just procurement and vibes.
